Just loads of theory from Wizarding Prep so the boy excitedly skipped toward the classroom boys did that too, okay?
The sign and the interesting looking wall gave him reason to pause though cause this looked like MOAR rules and everyone lost points last time they didn't follow 'em.
Something he appreciated about someone?
Huh. Alright then. Blaise nodded his quick quotes quill toward the wall then cleared his throat, ready to give his dictation. "I really appreciate my cousin Bentley. We made Gryffindor plans and he didn't back out on me."
Of course the quill got something more along the lines of:
Had the boy taken a second to LOOK, he may have realized but he'd already grabbed the BIG yellow smiley with the polka dot red tie and ran inside all excited like.
The boy took a seat riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight up at the front of the room and sank into it, beaming brightly at the woman who was standing there. "Morning Professor!" Oh and name tags. Name tags were safe. His quill hardly messed those up. The boy watched it float on over to the tag and again began giving instructions on what he expected written down.
O_O
The boy STARED at his name tag, refusing to believe that of all things the quill decided to distort it would be THIS. Oh man, oh man oh man oh man. Ensign wasn't EVEN a year--unless they were in Astro but they weren't anymore, gosh quill! The boy stuck his hand up, wiggling his little fingers to get the Professor's attention despite sitting riiiiiiiiiiiiight up there with her. "Can I...can I have another one of these....and...and I don't think mum will want me switching ties with anyone AND I worked really hard to be a Gryffindor so can I keep mine that way?" He didn't know about anyone ELSE'S struggle with the hat but his was REALLY made up and all in his head.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
She had asked for no names and just as this young one came in a name was said. Astrid wouldn't take points. Not this time, anyway. Once they got used to routine, which she fully expected them too, she would.
Look at that smile, though! Astrid smiled back, eyeing his name tag. "Good morning to you, Mister Bellaire--" Oh. Mistakes. Several of them. "Of course. Do write things on your own, please." If she let on student write with a special quill then more would follow and she wouldn't be able to say no without sounding unfair.
As for the tie situation. "Tie-switching is only for the duration of the class, Mister Bellaire. You can switch back afterwards." So no. She was the queen of fairness here! Text Cut: Ava Quote:

Entering the classroom, she looked around and.... She was early. "Good day, Professor." She smiled at the Charms Professor who-she-didn't-know-her-name yet and she didn't want to blurt out like she called the Transfiguration Professor as white-haired lady.
Like the sign had said, she grabbed a quill and wrote something.
Done? Done. Then she took a smiley sticker and put it on her head. Hehehehe... it's funny. And then she took a seat beside an empty one and put the nametag on her.
Moving on to the next student who arrived, Astrid grinned at her. A little Gryffindor! "Morning, Miss Burton." Don't forget the tie-switching. Text Cut: Yoongi Quote:

Putting on his brakes, Yoongi read the sign because the Professors were already changing their classroom rules.
Eh? ok...so he needed to write something positive? And it was supposed to be anonymous. Ok. He took out his bright pink flamingo quill and scribbled a message on the board. he doodled some stars around it and then went to grab a sticker. He took the dark pink one which was on the top right corner and ...he read the sign again. Put it on their forehead for the duration of the class?
ehm.... maybe the Professor hadn't written that right or? He would put the sticker on his face when everyone else would do the same... For now, he entered the classroom and waved at the Professor. "Goooood day Professor Baxter!" he said cheerfully and walked to an empty desk. Using the pink flamingo quill again, he wrote his nametag. "Anyone wanna trade my Gryffindor tie?" cause he had forgotten that....
There was Yoongi Hyland, and she couldn't help smile at his positive post on the wall. Confidence! He was owning it. "Good day to you, Mister Hyland. Sticker on your forehead." Just like the two young ones had done. Text Cut: Aditya Quote:

He quickly scribbled:
Awesomeeee! Now whenever anyone looked back at this, they would know that Adi Rehman had been there. Grinning at Benny, he added, ''Let's trade ties!'' Already he was pulling off his black and yellow one. "An honourary Hufflepuff and an honourary Gryffindor.'' When Benny handed over his tie, the Badger knotted it around his neck. Wheee! He was part lion! Wasn't he forgetting something? Oh yeah! The sticker! He LOVED stickers. They reminded him of Apollo and the seminar. He grabbed one to stick on his forehead, albeit a bit crookedly but who cared?
Now really in the class room, the GryffinPuff instantly noticed the summer air and Professor Baxter. "Hello, Professor!'' She got one of his happy signature grins and so did Ava, Yoongi and the other Lion (Blaise)whom he sat next to. Flopping down, he read the board. Okay, easy enough instructions.
Adi showed off the name tag to Benny. The Cheering Charm. Yep, gotta keep the world HAAAAPPPY!
Darn. The prefect did the same the as the first student. No names, but as she did the first time, she was going to let it pass just for today. "Nice morning, Prefect Rehman." Text Cut: Zeke Quote:

What to write?
In the end he settled for something casual.
Yeah.... that'd do. And the sticker? What sticker? He wasn't wearing a sticker. Nope.
Now though.... he needed to swap ties with someone? Could he get away with just changing the colour of his own? He stood idly for a moment before deciding to take his off. If nobody wanted to swap with him, he'd be cool with ditching it.
But now, while people were still arriving... a desk.
Zeke picked one close to the back, giving the Professor a small wave to say 'hello'. Words weren't working for him today. Here he filled out the name card.
Hogwarts rocks his socks, but stickers apparently don't. "Morning, Mister Browne. Did you not like my stickers?" Were they not 'cool' enough? She had more. Text Cut: Owen Quote:

Hmm. Depends if the Professor was approachable enough.
The young badger had now reached the outside of the Charms classroom. He went through the instructions and beamed. Cool. They had a Positive Wall, they could even get stickers! He immediately pulled out a quill from inside his bag and wrote on the wall:
Mooooore beaming because this Positive Wall was making him very optimistic. Yay, he gets to pick a sticker! Hmmm...which one? ....Oh. That smiley face with the hat. Owen peeled it from the wall and stuck it to his forehead. Now he had to trade his house tie with someone else from another house, yea? Since there was nobody else outside at the moment, Owen stepped inside the classroom in hopes of finding someone to swap ties with. PROFESSOR!ALERT. "Hello, Professor maa'm. Good day!"
...more instructions. Owen took a seat on an empty desk near the door and filled out a nametag.
The Hufflepuff turned to his classmates, "Anyone want to trade house ties?" Beamingggggggg.
There was another happy-looking kid. Astrid was glad majority were coming with an upbeat and hopefully a desire to learn! "Good day to youuu, Mister Montezor." Text Cut: Hady Quote:

Uh alright. Something she appreciates. Shouldn't be to hard to come up with. Pulling her quill from her bag she neatly wrote down the first thing that came to mind.
There done. Using 'they' made it easier. No sense in giving names or anything like that. The next part caused her to raise an eyebrow but she collected a green music note sticker and placed it on the back of her hand. Wearing a sticker on her forehead was a bit strange so her hand would be okay, right?
Now she needed to find a seat. Selecting one somewhere in the middle Hady gave a small smile at the Professor in greeting before she sat down. Setting her bag on the floor at her feet she kept a hold of her quill to fill out the nametag thing.
Setting her quill down she glanced around the room for a brief moment. Tie switching. Not something she wanted to do but yeah... sighing quietly she removed her tie and set it on her desk. If anyone wanted to switch with her they could.
Astrid studied the next to student quietly. She appreciated her following the rules and not mentioning any names. The young witch didn't seem as upbeat at the rest. Hmm. "Good morning, Miss Lynch. I hope you're having a nice day." She really did. Text Cut: Benny Quote:

Benny tried to think of his own to write, potentially mentioning Adi in return but finally opted for:
Now for the switching of ties, one of the new rules being added to the mix. at least this one wasn't bad, he'd almost had a Hufflepuff tie at the start-of-term-feast to fit in better. Loosening his red and gold tie, he swapped it for Adi's yellow and black one before retightening to still look properly dressed. "Yep, it's official." The sticker was added next, albeit somewhat reluctantly. It felt a little itchy to have something random on his forehead but...meh. "Hello Professor," he greeted the woman with a polite smile as he moved to follow Adi and take a seat next to him. However the instructions on the board stopped him as he nearly sat down. Next to someone you haven't met. Oops. "Guess I can't sit here..." he mused with an inward sigh to his best friend before scanning the room. Zeke was also out of the mix and two others had already paired off. So Benny moved towards a first year Gryffindor he'd seen in passing but hadn't officially met. "Hey," he greeted, sitting down beside him hoping he didn't mind and filled out his nametag.
He had learned that one over the summer interning.
When she meant no names, she really meant no names on the wall. Seeing as these were her fun rules, she wasn't going to deduct points. It was for fun, after all. She liked the way he moved himself next to a new person. Good kid. "Hello, Mister Atreyu." Text Cut: Ethan Quote:

Good vibes, thingamajig? Not that he’s against it, but isn’t he too old for that sort of thing? And they’d need to put a sticker on their forehead?
And hell no, they’d have to trade ties with other houses?!? Ethan gave the wall a sceptical look and considered skipping this class. Maybe he’s over reacting...but he didn’t expect those rules too. The seventh year took a peek inside the classroom and saw that a couple of Gryffindors are already inside. And of course they did follow her instructions without questions. Rolling his eyes, he proceeded with the first instruction and wrote something on the wall. Truth. Tossing the quill aside, he went on to pick a nice, green, star-shaped sticker.
Ethan opened the door, and immediately gave the woman a courteous nod and greeting. “Good morning, Professor.” He said, as he eyed the message on the board behind the woman. “And Welcome to Hogwarts too.” A small grin was given, and then turned on his heel to get a seat at the back. Away from everyone else. Somebody WILL take a seat beside him whom he hasn’t met eventually, right? Right. For now, he just wants to be alone. Picking up the blank nametag, he too got his self-inking quill and filled it out:
He was going to trade his tie, yeah? It was for fun and an opportunity to mingle with other houses.
Disillusionment Charm, eh? That was the first charm that came to mind actually. Why? Well, he felt like hiding himself from everyone else right now as he picked up his green star sticker, and smacked it on his forehead. Didn’t say it had to be in the middle, yeah?
Oh and ties? He’s going to keep his green tie for now. He won’t be caught OFFERING to trade his OWN tie because it felt like betraying his own house, even if it were for funsies.
Another student who didn't read the rules properly. He got a smile nonetheless and a nod. "Good morning to you and thank you." That was the first welcome, how sweet of him. Text Cut: Norah Quote:

She started on her way to the desks again, now looking around for somebody to switch ties with. She passed by the professor and said, "Hi Professor Baxter," then took a seat near Zeke. Yeah, okay, she did know him already but she'd met everybody else too, and they'd never talked much before so it totally counted. "Hey. Zeke. Want to switch ties?" She didn't really get that part of the rules but Professor Baxter PROBABLY knew what she was doing, being a Professor 'n all that.

Ohhh...stickers?! Wicked! This reminded him of the seminar they had once before in Hogwarts. He quickly picked his favourite colour out of all the stickers available and pasted it right in the middle of his forehead.Brilliant...a plain blue one would suit nicely.
What was next? They had to exchange ties now?!! But he didn't want to exchange ties... Henric loved his tie. He ironed it last night too! Well..the houseelves did...
Anyway, where could he find someone to exchange it with? He looked around the class, everyone seemed taken ."Hi, good morning...anyone would like a Huff tie?" Henric flashed a friendly smile.

Sappy, yes. But today, Austin didn't care, and he hoped he didn't have to elaborate on it later. Since he wasn't in a good mood, he took one of the orange frowny faces, and stuck it on his forehead. Wasn't this a little childish? This wasn't going to be permanently stuck to his head? Right?

There were still a lot of stairs, okay? He focused his attention on the wall where he was supposed to write something nice. Easy peasy lemon squeazy.
Step 1 done. Next, switch ties with somebody? Olly quickly removed his own tie. Well, as quickly as he could even though he was not all that good at it. When he got it off, a thought occurred to him. "ELLERY WE CAN BE IN THE SAME HOUSE FOR THIS LESSON!" The only flaws in his statement were that he wasn't sure if Ellery was even in the room yet, and that switching ties didn't technically mean switching houses. Still, the thought was very exciting. So Olly kept an eye out for a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff. Two Ravenclaws or Hufflepuffs, actually. Next step, nametag.
Excited fellow at twelve o'clock. "Good morning. Inside voices, please." When she stated she had sensitive hearing, Astrid had been honest. Text Cut: Sophie Quote:

The... "Positive Wall" concept was actually kind of nice, and Sophie actually smiled. This was a SUPER easy thing to do, so Soph marched right up to the wall and added HER appreciation. I appreciate my best friend for being smart, kind, funny, loving, sweet, and charming.
Whether it was about Zander or Tobes, no one would ever know since names weren't allowed, and Soph promptly selected the blue sticker with the little bowtie and stuck it right in the center of her forehead. Boom. WORKIN' IT.
The house tie thing, though? She wanted to be GRYFFINDOR. She would've made a good Gryffindor, she knew, and she knew JUST the Gryffindor to trade with, as long as his wasn't taken yet... AH-HA! ...Except JUST as she went to trade with Zander and claim him, two OTHERS stole him. Ruuuuuuuuuude. At least it looked like he was going to be a Ravenclaw today. He was more Ravenclaw than he thought, because he was very creative and smart in ways outside of typical means of intelligence, and he was unique, too. No one she had ever met was anything like Zander Adair.
But even more than just not getting to wear his tie, she wasn't allowed... to sit with him EITHER? Mega lame. But she didn't know WHO to sit with because she already KNEW so many people. That was the problem with being Head Girl. It was her job to know everyone and to talk to everyone, so like... WHAT TO DO.
Sophie was just going to... sit over here. On her own, with her tie already in her hand and READY TO SWITCH WITH SOMEONE WHO WANTED HER. In the meantime, she filled out her name tag.
One in particular came to mind, of course, but if they were going to be read out LOUD or something, she didn't want Zander snickering at her. So she was just going to mind her own business and keep things subtle while trying to catch the eye of a newbie she didn't know--
Oh. And. "Hi, professor. M'Sophie Brown." Head Girl, she probably knew. "If y'need assistance with anything, m'game." In case she needed a helper at some point. Just WANTED HER TO KNOW.
Head Girl was spot on following the rules and with a pleasant attitude at that! This made Astrid a happy professor. She was even being helpful. Head Boy, take notes, yes. In return the young witch received a bright smiled. "It is very nice to meet you, Sophie Brown." Very nice, yes yes. "Thank you, I will keep that in mind." Text Cut: Daxton Quote:

Except, when he arrived at the classroom and read the sign outside, his mood immediately fell flat. A Positive Wall? What on Earth? Stickers on foreheads? Trading ties?
Why?
Staring at the rules, and then at the wall, Daxton tried to make his mind up as to whether he even wanted to go inside. He did not want to, but... he was curious. Curious about learning magic, and seeing more in action, and watching the various ways everyone else failed. He wanted to learn about spells, to gain knowledge. But those rules... those rules were ridiculous.
So Daxton simply ignored them. Bypassing the 'Positive Wall' and the eyesore stickers, he made his way into the room and claimed a seat as close to the door as he could get. He did not doubt that someone would take it upon themselves to force their company on him soon enough, but he would not seek anyone out. And he did not want to trade ties, because his tie belonged to him. In any case, it all seemed like a ploy to get them to interact with one another, and Daxton was perfectly fine keeping to himself.
He did, at least, fill out a nametag.
With that done, Daxton simply sat there, closely watching others in the class, idly flipping the edges of the pages of his notebook with his thumb.
Daxton Prince was giving her fun rules a big NO. Well. It wasn't a classroom rule for now. "Good day, Mister Prince." She smiled at him even if she had a feeling that smile wouldn't be returned. Text Cut: Cinnamon Quote:

Since she had been up all night baking she maybe as well bring them with her.
Making her way to the classroom, she stopped by the door to read the signs. Okay write on positive wall, sticker from heart wall and trade ties. Got it. She walked on into the classroom and headed toward the professor with the cinnamon rolls. "Hi, these are for you." She smiled and handed her the pan.
Moving on to the positive wall, honestly she couldn't think of anything positive today. Nothing at all. So she quickly read over the wall at what the others wrote to get an idea of course. Hmmm.
There that took care of that. No one else has said that, right? Oh well opps then she made her way to the heart wall and picked a sticker and stuck it to her forehead. What a lovely fashion statement, professor.
Also she filled out the nametag. Now to trade a tie! "Who wants to be a Gryffindor for a day?" Who wouldn't? She took by her desk and looked around.
Did she smell...cinnamon rolls?
She did. She most definitely did! And she was being presented with actual cinnamon rolls. The Charms Professor almost went starry-eyed. This was her weakness. Oh Merlin! "Thank you so much! Take two house points for your generosity." Well deserved too. Bringing a professor food was much appreciated. Especially since Astrid didn't have a specific time to eat. Another happy soul. Astrid smiled at the girl, tilting her head slightly as she wrote her name. The surname Landvik stood out. He missed that treehouse already. Treehouses were INTERESTING and DIFFERENT, unlike these classes over here.
But what was different about THIS class was that there was a bright yellow wall. Yep. One where they had to write something they appreciate? Uh. Phillip wrinkled his nose at the notice and then over at the wall. He had nothing against positivity but the word rules was making him feel WEIRD. RULES. New and WEIRD rules. He was sure he didn't have to walk around with a sticker on his forehead and a different colour tie around his neck in his other classes.
As for his appreciation...
There. When that was done and he slapped a bright sticker on his forehead, Phillip turned his attention towards the Professor herself. "HelloooOOOOO, Professor," Morning and all that jazz. Smiling at her, the first year started loosening his tie as he made his way towards an empty seat. Plonking himself down and taking off his tie completely, the Slytherin started looking around for a partner to work with. Someone from a different house AND someone who was likely to fall for the innocent, sad first year look. Phillip was a pro at that.
Merlin, these happy young ones got her upbeat and excited for her own lesson. They almost reminded her of her students back in Alicante. "Hellooo to you, Mister..." Oh. "You're name tag." She tapped the desk lightly. "Let's not forget that." Or his name might end up being Frabizio Rizzoli.
Glancing up at the clock above the entryway, Astrid clapped her hands twice to get the attention of the class. The door closed, hushing the sound from students out in the corridor. "Let's settle down, please." Her voice was clear and loud enough for the students to hear. It made her heart all warm seeing them interact (most of them), but it was time to go to business.
Walking back to the front of the classroom and leaning against her desk, she tugged at the tip of blue and bronze tie that was around her neck. As a former Gryffindor she had clearly switched ties with someone. The students wouldn't know that. "First, I want to welcome new and returning students to Charms Class. I, myself, am new to teaching at Hogwarts, but not the castle itself." Flicking her wand at the blackboard her name was written in neat writing. "I am Professor Baxter and as you may have all guessed, I will be teaching you Charms." How exciting was that! "I would like to thank all of the students who followed directions and participated in the activity. It was nothing to be alarmed about." She smiled reassuringly and kindly at those she noticed flip about the rules and at those who did great and followed through. "A brief advice, if you'd like to earn full credit in my class read the rules and follow them appropriately." They were simple enough, yeah? They were early childhood level. She thought so, and she wanted them to all earn full credit. And now they couldn't say, 'but you didn't tell us thaaat!' because she just did.
With another smile, Astrid pushed off her desk and wandered toward the front desks, pausing.
