SPOILER!!: boy down, BOY DOWN
Benny waited with baited breath after he dropped the news, watching AJ's every move even as the girl seemed to freeze at first in reaction. And then she tried to speak and stumbled over her words which gave him a good idea of how it had affected her. The younger lion wasn't exactly one to get tongue-tied. The wheels appeared to be moving in her mind as the silence returned between them.

The next thing he knew, AJ was throwing herself at his legs and the overall surprise had taken him so off guard that he hadn't the chance to brace himself. So her movements became a full on tackle and he fell to the ground with her on top of him. Followed by a sternly worded question asked through her teeth at him that made Benny apprehensive and app0logetic all at the same time.

"I didn't want to....I wanted to do it privately over the summer...but us getting together never worked." It had been true. With her traveling and his internship, it had been impossible. And if anything it had cemented the thought that maybe they weren't cohesive in their future plans. "And I didn't feel right doing it in a letter." Breaking up was something that had to be done face to face. "And when we ran into each other on the train I couldn't just pretend everything was fine."

Most people in this situation would be able to have a civilized conversation. Raised voices would happen, sure, but the last thing you would expect would be a tackle. You see, AJ marches by the beat of her own drums and it was safe to expect the unexpected when it came to her. One could never accuse her of being dull.

Benny was flat on his back which meant that AJ Valentine still had it. Being able to knock down a boy that was two years older than you might come in handy for a resume. In fact it could show that she would have no problem taking care of magical creatures. Her cup was always half full.

Anyways, an interrogation needed to happen.

He didn't want to. AJ didn't want to hear NONE OF THAT. "Oh, and I guess somebody twisted your arm and MADE you do it then." Because it seemed like he had all the choices in the world. If he would have done the breaking up over the summer then Angel could of had some time to process it. Matter of fact, arm twisting sounded like a pretty good idea to get some answers. That helpful little tidbit was stored for later, Benny. Just in case he wasn't forthcoming.

He didn't want to do it in a letter. Well, that was kind of him. No, he was the enemy. All she could see right now was a hurt sister. AJ eased back out of his face a bit, but made no move to actually get up off of him. She got it.... Pretending would never be something she would want for anybody. What kind of life was that?

"Why though?" This was make it or break it for him right now. "What happened?" Say it was for another girl and Benny and his new love interest was going to get it.
