Milo ran his finger over some of the titles of the books all varying in sizes along the dark mahogany shelves that he could reach. There were some pretty interesting finds to be sure. His mother had went on and on about the Hogwarts library in the weeks following the morning he received his Hogwarts letter. He had been nervous to leave home and his safe little bubble where it was just him and his mom in their little home in the village but the library was one thing for sure he was looking up to. This was perhaps the largest library of magical information he could get his hands on for quite a while.

And with all of that information surrounding him, Milo was at a crossroads: should he check out Mermish for Beginners or Gobbledegook: This isn't my Vault. Goblin Language Acquisition for Young Wizards.
Davie really needed a place to practice his basic wizarding charms, and although the common room could have worked, or somewhere in the Charms classroom or Transfiguration room or even the DADA room, he wanted to practice in the library. He felt very comfortable with books and other flammable objects and in case he needed to reference the theory again before performing the application, well...

Here he was. Surrounded by the right material.

So with a small small bin full of paper under his left arm, and his wand out and lit for some reason in his other hand, Davie wandered down the book aisles. Incendio and Other Common Incantations... that had been all he'd needed... that was the title.... it started with an I.... annnnnnd he stopped short as another boy seemed to be hovering between the G titles and the M titles. I was smack dab in-between those two.

The first year didn't recognize him from behind, but to be helpful and perhaps move the boy along, he cleared his throat. "Gobbledegook for beginners is surprisingly easy to learn," he offered the boy. "I once greeted a goblin in gobbledegook at Gringotts, and he didn't hit me with his cane that day." So his brief-lived flirtation with learning that language had been a total minor success, in case this boy was stuck on goblins too.
