Surely students came to him all the time about these matters? Like, pets didn't live on forever. Unless there was a potion for that? He'd have to get Marsha to read the potions book for him and find one.

"Everything?" he squeaked, eyes widening a little more. "Umm, okay? Well, I was hoping since, well... you know, I was hoping he'd be alright alone, because I've left him alone before alllllll the time, but then I went back to our dormitory and... it was really really really... really bad. Really. And the worst part is, I don't even know who did it. I mean, of course I tried to bring him back but it was baaaaad I didn't want anyone to SEE him like that, y'know? Especially after everything. It was... it was awful a-and and... awful."

He bit the inside of his cheek, eyes almost welling up from the memories.

"I just want to give him a good farewell. He was a really good friend."
