Had to give him credit. He was pretty spry for an old guy.

But then there was the issue of tea. Why was it always tea? Perhaps because it was more soothing than coffee, and therefore more appropriate to civilized conversation.

Needless to say, it would be both rude and unproductive to decline. That, and a hot drink might go down well at this very moment. "A man can hardly decline such a generous invitation."

Especially when it was cookies sent from his daughter. While his own wasn't quite old enough to do such things on her own, Sabel could imagine that each of those biscuits would be like gold. Curious though, it made him realize he hadn't thought much about the Headmaster's family.

Moving up to the desk, Sabel gave the books a curious, sidelong glance. "Decent summer, Sir?"

No need to rush the pleasantries. Especially if there was tea on the table.
Botros gestured at the corner by the door where there were more comfortable chairs set up, and his very own large armchair. Sitting here at his desk felt too formal, he liked to have a laid-back atmosphere with his former colleagues, which reminded him how little he personally knew or interacted with the Auror slash professor in his company right now. Taking the basket of biscuits from his desk, Botros descended the few steps from his office area towards the corner. "My daughters insist I eat home cooked meals every week even though the house-elves' meals are great," he chuckled and set the basket down on the small coffee table there.

The tea set sat permanently on this table and all Ab had to do was heat up the pot wandlessly. "Blessful summer, I call it. In Egypt with my sons and daughters and their children, it was heartwarming," he smiled widely, his small eyes shining behind his glasses. "Thank you for asking." He felt the need to thank the man because Dakest didn't seem like someone who'd come over for a casual chat with someone else. He had this intense aura about him. Maybe it was his former job. "Hope yours is just as good," he smiled and started pouring them tea. "Sugar or milk?" It was traditional British tea this time.
