Hmmm... she was going to let it go for now because fun was about to happen, and Benny was about to get his butt kicked. Same thing though, really. Maybe that's what lingering look was for. He knew he was about to get shown up by a girl. Yeah, that had to be it. Couldn't exactly blame the boy either.
Yes. He was down for a game. Benny was even going to let her go first. Such a gentleman he was. AJ grabbed the ball and her normally smiling face faded, and was replaced by her game face. "Ready, set.... GO!" Now, he couldn't say that he wasn't ready. Her free hand smacked the ball hard, and she watched as it soared over in the direction of her partner. "So, how's life?" She asked casually. It had been ages since the gang had been together. Lately the only one she had really hung out with was Adi, but they had spent time together over the summer with some different friends. This would be the last year they would all be at Hogwarts together and AJ really hoped for some more fun times with the the people she cared about the most.
Benny was going to play this by year. Yep, he wasn't going to dwell on things too much. Perhaps there was understanding or they were just going to have a friendly game of tetherball on the school's new playground. Whatever the case, he probably shouldn't focus on the bad stuff all the time. He was a Gryffindor after all...he didn't want to be afraid of his friend.
He tried to prepare himself for what was to come, watching and waiting as AJ took the tethered ball and served it up around the pole and heading in his direction. A question followed it and the seventh year did his best to keep his focus on both fairly. No giving up this early in the game. "Its..." the young man hitting the ball back towards his companion successfully in the opposite direction. "It's alright." Seemed a fair enough assessment at the moment. "How about with you?" The question served to return the favor as well as to try and test the waters with the younger lion. To see what was up, if anything. Perhaps there was a chance she DIDN'T know what had happened on the train. Benny knew Adi had been with AJ since but he wouldn't have said anything unless it was brought up....right?
