Davie had always wondered what was the purpose of a mirror that reflected better decor than what was actually present in a corridor. En route to the library, he stopped in front of said mirror and wondered if it would reflect him in addition to the fancy draperies and oil paintings it was currently reflecting. He could use a haircut and a makeover, probably, or whatever the girls were calling it these days.
