At Zeke's attempt of explaining the situation Maggie gave him a look that clearly read, what even? That was the worst thing to say ever. By now she had finally let go of the Gryffindor and had slowly moved to stand behind him. Like, so that maybe the professor wouldn't recognize her. This was embarrassing enough as it was. No need to know that Professor Flamsteed had something on her.
Ugh. Why?!
That was definitely her name. Maggie leaned her forehead against Zeke's back for a second to keep herself from letting out a groan in frustration. So he had recognized her. Eventually she stepped around her friend (?) to stand beside him. Wow. Seriously? Once again she wondered how on earth Flamsteed had even gotten this position. They hadn't like murdered anyone or anything.
Like. Chill, dude.
Maggie just watched the professor for a moment, looking rather sheepish while doing so, trying to figure out a way out of this. She could probably throw Zeke under the bus there to save herself but then again that would mean he wouldn't be willing to do this anymore. And finding someone new was annoying. Ugh.
"We're really sorry, Sir." She folded her hands behind her back and looked down at her feet. "We didn't....plan for this to happen. Ahem. "It's just that.....ever since last year, since the...attacks....it's...coming up here helps me....calm down." Maggie looked back up to meet Professor Flamsteed's gaze, biting her lip while doing so. "Zeke was just.....helping." Helping. Mhm. For good measure she reached over to take the Gryffindor's hand. See?
She was pretty sure she could start crying on cue too if need be. |
