A warm reception from the badgers wasn't all that surprising but it was appreciated all the same and Moxley's smile only grew in size as she watched the students react to the common room and the presence of herself and Cosgrach, who'd since arrived. He was looking Huffleperfect. If only she'd brought a camera for the occasion...Ah well! There was food and that was most important, anyway!
That Noel Wallace was an enthusiastic one, wasn't he? Kid had the blondest hair she'd seen, too, and she was sooo tempted to ruffle it. So tempted! Lucky for him, a mugful of hot chocolate and a cauldron cake were currently making this impossible. "Why thank you, Mr. Wallace! I'm glad you like it!" The badgers were an earthy bunch so the plants seemed like a fitting addition to the space.
Norah Kittredge was the cutest little thing and Moxley just wanted to shrink her down and put her in a little box on her desk so she could open it up and hear all the ridiculously adorable things the red head was saying when she needed a pick-me-up. She wouldn't do this, of course, mostly because she wanted to keep her job and suspected the girl would be missed, but she was thinking it. Dream big, Moxley. "Thank you and I believe congratulations is in order, Prefect Kittredge! You wear the badge well!" Great addition to any outfit, surely. "I trust you're ready to inspire the bunch. Err...group...clan?" What was a group of badgers called again? Eh, Norah surely knew what she meant!
Oh good, they were noticing the hat! That meant she was fitting in, yes? "Why thank you, Henric! You can borrow it any time you like." Because it was obviously every fifth year boy's dream to walk around with a cutesy badger hat on his head. "You too, of course!" She extended the offer to Paulina with a smile.
Noting one of the tinier badgers being awfully quiet, the muggle studies professor sidled over and clinked her mug of hot chocolate gently against his. "Welcome to Hufflepuff, Mr. Whittebrook!" She'd seen the sorting. Of course she had. The brunette always liked seeing the kids' expressions as the hat did its thing.
Mr. Montezor, another new member of the badger family, got an enthusiastic wave from Moxley when he greeted the professors. "Hello! Hope you're enjoying your hot chocolate!" It was extra chocolaty by request in hopes that sugared up Hufflepuffs would be more likely to accept a lion and a snake into their home with open hearts and minds.
"Thank you, Prefect Rehman!" She could always count on a positive attitude from Adi and Moxley appreciated such things more than she could say. He was a good prefect, she thought.
Heading over to Culloden, the nudged him gently. "So far, so good, don't you think?" She paused to sip her hot chocolate and then added, "Should we start with some ice breakers now?"
