Tom wandered into the common room fairly late. He'd slept so well the night before that he'd slept right through his alarm. He didn't mind today, because it was the most comfortable bed he'd ever slept on and the best rest he'd ever had, but he hoped that he'd get well enough used to it that he didn't accidentally sleep through any of his classes!
Oliver and the older boy he'd been talking to the night before--Ethan, he thought--were chatting in one seating area of the common room, and Tom took a calming breath and approached them. "Good morning," he greeted. He glanced around the otherwise empty common room. "Am I very late waking up? I was hoping to see some of the people I met at the feast last night and then maybe explore a bit." |
