She could have always used magic but she's heard of way to many horror stories about ones that went wrong. Finally looking up she saw Dalton! she felt so bad that she hadn't gotten the chance to speak with him yet and catch up.

Jogging over to him she called his name "Hey Dalton!" she sang, and she threw her cloak down beside his and sat down throwing her arms behind her to let her face drink up the sunlight. "im sorry we didn't talk at the feast!!! missed you buddy! did you do anything fun over the summer break?" she rambled on as she was totally getting comfortable.
Reading a book on how to make the best use of his lack of magical skills and how to actually appreciate being a Wizard had been Aleds idea, and if he hadn't been his best friend Dalton would definitely not be doing such a task. Eugh, the kids level head was bothersome, sometimes. He was about to turn the page when he heard his name, and fought back a roll of the eyes as he turned around to see who was joining him.

"Echo. Hey." Managing a quick, forced smile (there was nothing it seemed anyone could do to get past that) Dalton folded the corner of the page over, not caring that the librarian would mind, and closed the book. "Yeah, uh... Yeah. Same." About the missing and stuff, all that kind of thing. Friendship was odd. "Not really. Grew." Which totally counted as kind of exciting, right?

"You?"
