There were a lot of stairs in the school, weren't there? Maybe Mari would've said something about being tired when they reached the top but she was too fascinated by everything going on. The stairs moved and the portraits moved... basically everything moved and that was totally awesome. Marietta made sure to not be left behind though... because she was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to find the common room on her own. She trailed after the rest of the group, touching the frames of the portraits as she passed them.
When the head boy stopped and said the password, Marietta didn't even hear it. She had been impressed by the portrait singing the Hogwarts song and was applauding the lady for it. "YOU ARE SO GOOD AT THAT SINGING. You should never stop!" Marietta exclaimed before entering the common room.
Wow.
She wondered if everyone else was having the same reaction she was. "This is home? I get to live here?!" Marietta asked no one in particular. She contained her urge to squeal and run around; instead, she just stood there, grinning and staring at everything. Hogwarts was awesome.
