In all honesty, he missed being allowed to linger at the feast and inhale a couple of more delicious items before having to get up. But ever since this badge thing happened, sigh, the sacrifices. At least being the first in to the Common Room meant he’d have first dibs on welcome back snacks… There would be snacks right? Because this was very important. And if not, he’d volunteer to personally pick some up from the kitchens. Though, it’d be a wise idea to send someone down there with him because he’d probably finish it all on the way back up.
He made a show to demonstrate the usage of the Common Room Password, explaining the importance of remembering and what not. He had first hand experience on that front. ”Aurea Orrery,” Sweet Merlin, Flamsteed couldn’t come up with something easier to say? Like what was wrong with “Chocolate Frogs”? Zander had been trying to get that one on the list for ages.
After the Fat Lady’s excruciatingly-long rendition of what was seemingly supposed to be the Hogwarts song, Zander finally demonstrated crawling into the Common Room (because Merlin knows how some kid will manage to screw that up) and stepped to the side to allow the others to follow right in.
Also, HE SPOTTED SNACKS!!! Ahem. But first, ”Welcome to home, Gryffindors,” so uh, he could wait for the thing he had to do right? Let them take it all in first. Also, was he free to go get snacks??? Or did he have to wait until everyone else got a turn too?
… And what the heck was with it and all these mystery boxes? If it had cobwebs hidden inside, Zander was out.
