Lifting Hagan up off the floor and cradling him in her arms she continued to edge her way around a few of the older teens standing about in her way. As she neared one of the compartments her hazel eyes landed on a boy she recalled meeting in Diagon Alley. What was his name again? Uh...Colt. That's right Colt. She remembered because it was a bit different from the average name but not hard. "Hey Colt, did you manage to decide on an owl that day?," she asked walking over and leaning against the doorway beside the compartment. She was curious if he had of not since he had asked her questions about which was best and all.
With a small grin she peered around Colt when he opened the compartment door and asked the person inside if they minded him sitting there. Hady grinned a little more when she saw who was inside and offered a greeting to her friend and fellow Slytherin year mate. "Hey Brooklyn." This was also accompanied with her usual nod of the head. He wondered out loud who knew his name because he was still the newbie going to Hogwarts. He turned his head and noticed the girl. She looked really familiar and then her question made sense. Aaahhh she was the girl he met in the owl store. "Yeah I managed to finally pick one actually." he assured her. "I got a barn owl. It seemed to like me after it bit my finger off a little bit." he joked with her a little bit. Then he had to ask, "I am sorry I forgot your name what is it again?" Then he heard the girl in the compartment was named Brooklyn. Hmm interesting since his city where he was born was in Brooklyn. The peace and quiet didn’t last long, but then Brooklyn wasn’t naïve enough to have really thought that she would have had the compartment to herself for the whole train ride. That was nearly impossible, especially near the front. Some people seemed like they just felt like being closer to the prefects’ compartment made them that much better. She just knew she was. It had nothing to do with the prefects. The least she could hope for, though, was that whoever it was wouldn’t annoy her. Or try to hug her. The boy who had opened the door wasn’t anyone she knew already, so that eliminated any already established biases. And his question only proved he had respect. She could appreciate that.
She’d been about to allow him to sit, as long as he didn’t try to sit on her cat who was still on the bench opposite her, when another voice sounded from nearby. Obviously speaking to the boy who had opened the door, and also identifying him. Plus, she recognized said voice even before her dormmate had peeked around the doorway. “Hi Hady,” she returned, giving the other girl a nod as well. Slytherin greetings were the best. They didn’t need to say or do much more to be understood, and it would be a good lesson for Colt. If he chose to pay attention.
“You can come in if you want,” she finally said, mostly to Colt. Hady could come in too, if she felt like it. She wasn’t sure if the other girl was looking for a compartment or if she was looking for Zeke from the small part of her face she could still see, after all. She wasn’t a mind reader. That was a useless ability in her mind anyhow, unless it was used to get her where she wanted to be. More accurately, if it could keep her there, since she knew from the end of last term that there would be a lot more testing of professors to see if they respected her. If they could be used for her benefit.
