After awhile of being picky for a compartment she saw one that had only one other girl in it. She entered the compartment and sat across from the girl and potential friend. Then she stuck out her hand,
"Hi, my name is Adelynn."
She smiled at the girl.

Now he entered his first semi-empty compartment, spying someone he recognized at last. He hadn't seen Charlotte yet, and he still needed to find her for sure, but he could sit and talk to Kate as the train got going. Only problem was, a different girl had found her first. So, with a small smile, Davie settled into the compartment on Kate's side and gave her a small smile, looking across to her new friend as well.
Should he introduce himself, even though she was talking to Kate? No? No. He'd wait. It was more courteous that way.
Kate had just absentmindedly peeled off the wrapped of a piece of candy and popped the candy in her mouth, when she heard the compartment door slide open. She stuffed the wrapped into her pocket and looked up. Oh, look! It was---... Who was that? A new girl! Kate smiled at her, happy to have somebody to ride the train with and talk to as they made the long ride to school. The girl looked close to her age, too!
"Hey," she said, extended her hand and meeting the shake,
"I'm Kate. Thanks for sitting here! I was getting kind of bored by myself." She paused for a second before adding,
"Is this your first time at Hogwarts?" Kate hadn't seen her in any of the classes yet, and there wasn't anything on the girl's clothes that showed what house she was in.
The door slid open again, and this time it showed David, Kate's new friend from Diagon Alley!
"Hey, David," she greeted.
"I was wondering if I'd see you on the train." She gestured to the other girl and said,
"David this is Addelyn. Addelyn, this is David." Now that the introductions were over, Kate couldn't help but add,
"David's got a really cool mom! She used to be the Headmistress, so David's been to the castle load's of times." It was EXCITING!
