The Historian's Guide to suriving history! Out of Character Rules:
All SS site rules and Role Play Specific rules apply to this classroom and throughout the school at all times. No exceptions. Any questions about these rules can be directed to school staff/ moderator or an administrator.
In character offenses will be punished in character. This means your character will lose house points or get detention or in severe cases both.
Out of character offenses will be punished out of character. Therefore, you the member, will get a warning or infraction in accordance with SS site rules.
Additionally, anyone who changes their answers after reading what another member has written, will not earn ANY points for changing their answer. If you had more to add, post again. You are free to edit coding or quotes in your post, but I will check your edits to be sure you haven't added information that someone else gave or changed your answers. Just do yourselves (and your house) a favour; don't change your answers. In Character Rules (for your student): Respect Differences: Every character is different and we embrace difference, its a part of what makes rpying FUN. So I don't care if someone talks funny or looks at your character in the wrong way. In the History of Magic classroom regardless if its in class our outside it you will show your peers and your professor respect. Disrespect once and you will lose house points and repeat offences will lead to detention. No chatting during the lesson: Excessive talking creates distractions and is very disrespectful to your professor and classmates. Chatting will not be tolerated and if you choose to do so, then I will be forced deduct House Points from you. Only exception from this rule would be if the I the professor allows you to talk amongst yourselves to complete an activity in class that requires it. Be on time.If you arrive to the lesson after it has already begun, simply pretend you have been there the whole time. Likewise, don't leave early. Announcing you are leaving early or that your late will earn yourself a point deduction and possibly even a detention that will most likely involve doing extra work with no credit. Dress policy. In addition to being on time, Hogwarts Dress code is in effect at all times during my lessons. This includes proper black school robes and appropriate footwear. Anyone arriving to class out of proper uniform will be expected to submit an eight inch essay on the importance of uniforms by the given deadline or a ten point deduction will result. House points There will be opportunities to earn points for your house, but remember that the point of the School RP isn't just about earning house points - it is to ROLE PLAY. Each lesson, students will have the opportunity to earn up to 35 house points; roughly, fifteen from homework, fifteen from class participation, and five for extra credit should a student show exemplary effort. Class participation and homework are voluntary, but if you wish to earn house points, then they are necessary. Do not cheat. Plagiarism is illegal in the muggle world, as it is in the History of Magic classroom. On homework, this could mean NO points awarded to any of those involved in the offense and possible point deduction equivalent to the value of the homework itself. In class, this could mean point deduction and possible detention at the discretion of the Grey Lady.
The final and perhaps most important rule: HAVE FUN! Learning about magical history is exciting and hopefully we can bring up similarities with muggle history that will make us understand our history better. |
