Revolutionary. Well, it wasn't a word he would have picked for himself, but now that Bossman had forwarded it as a suggestion, it did have a certain allure to it. Rhydian considered it for a moment, before nodding. "Suppose that would be one way of looking at it. I am, after all, one of a kind and one of an age."

And one of a certain mindset. One that appreciated outside the box thinking, and not the type of thinking to keep him in the box. "Not interested in having death knock on my door tomorrow, so while the worry is sweet, it isn't necessary."

He liked his life, thank-you-very-much. Didn't see it ending anytime soon. Not for a while at least. Still had things to do and .... a promotion of sorts? Though, not in the manner Bossman was thinking. That got a chuckle from him and he waved the envelope like waving a handkerchief in passing. "Got no intents of any sort, and wouldn't stand in Cambridge's way even if I did."

Of course she would have dibs. That was her. And really, it made him proud.

He stopped waving the envelope long enough to take a good look at it. "Least, not in the Auror department. Maybe as Head Hit Wizard...." Didn't hear about too many of those walking about, but then the Hit contingent of their department seemed to be rather quiet.

A glance was stolen at Rainey, to try and gauge his reaction. YATI-wanna-be-hit-wizard. Made sense in his own mind. Might not to Rainey. Pushing back into his chair, Rhydian plopped his feet up on the edge of the desk and considered the envelope. "Don't really care about becoming Head anything to tell you the truth. Just interested in what doors might open if I do my part unquestionably."

A bargin of sorts. But, could he really say that?

He let it hang in the air, listening to Rainey's rather interesting story. A story near two decades old. A story of Rainey's youth, possibly first days in the MLE? And, that singular name. Anthea Watterson. The only victim mentioned, retained after so many years. It held meaning, a particular meaning if he was asked to take an educated guess. Thing was, making that educated guess a verbal reality was a dangerous thing when it came to men like Rainey.

And out of anyone, Rhydian understood well the intricacies of dealing with death unsolved. Murder, unsolved, if one wanted to be particularly blunt. Hashing out details of who was what to who, made no difference. The case stood unsolved, and these were the pieces in front of them. That was all that mattered.

So, he elected for a different approach. Holding the envelope up in the air, he waved it about slightly. "What's up with these pieces? Calling cards?" Mockeries? Letters for the dead?
