Thornton simply nodded. "Don't forget that guests are coming soon," he added before she dashed inside. Likely tomorrow, but he supposed it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for one to show up today. They had been... loose on the arrangements, and it was likely that the first ones would be sharing space with Adelaide.
Not that he thought she didn't keep her room absolutely pristine on her own. But just in case she wanted to tidy up.
And with that he went back to his painting, barely sparing a glance at Nowell and not at all responding to his reaction to the paint. "My friends are my friends and you'll be nice to them, Nowell. Please." It wasn't actually a request, and Thornton just quickly glanced at his cousin out of the corner of his eye. He planned to finish this painting before dinner.
