But it was not to be, because the fellow ginger was leaving. "And sticks, Thorny. We want to roast them until they can't be roasted any more. Destruction of sugary goodness does a body good." In the meantime, she was going to go see the Headmistress.
Dot sidled up to fellow ginger with an unsure little smile. "Headmistress? It'll be real sad that you have to go, but I'll make sure the gingers are represented while you're gone. And I'll wear extra pink so people remember you. And if you want, I can keep an eye on your kid and make sure he's okay. I think redheads have to stick together, 'cause no one else watches out for us." Just saying.
Ok. Marshmallows and sticks. Thornton could do that and the Rav nodded, uttering just a simple 'ok' in response. Plus, it would let him get up and have a little bit of time to himself... but, as Dot got up, it seemed that he was going to get that anyway.
As she walked away, Thornton let the speech sink in. The Headmistress was leaving. For a split second, Thornton wondered if his parents would welcome or disapprove of the change. Would it bet yet another summer of wondering if he'd be back? With a resigned sigh, the Ravenclaw pushed himself up to his feet and made his way over to the s'mores supplies. Claiming two sticks and an entire bag of marshmallows, he started to head back before hesitating.
Yeah, they needed chocolate and graham crackers too.
