"Alright, if you feel you are not injured." She didn't look injured, but Cassie still worried.
She couldn't help but beam and snap, "You are soo welcome. I'm glad I can help!" She adored helping so getting the food was great in her eyes. Taking another bite of her sandwich she let her eyes go about the room making sure all the students were doing alright when she overheard Annie's words. Gaasssppp "Annie you can't mean it." Not that she didn't think Ab could be a headmaster, he was older and wiser and she knew could do a great job, but Annie Truebridge not headmistress. The words couldn't even form in her mouth. "I like that you are keeping it in the Hufflepuff family, but Annie maybe you should take a few days to think about it. Don't just jump to a decision after all of this just happened." Was she speaking when she shouldn't? She knew that it wasn't her conversation, but goodness she was right there and the words left her mouth before she could try to act like she didn't hear. "Oh but I do," Annie answered in a low voice, leaving forward to eye Cassie as she joined the conversation. Well now if Cassie had heard her, the whole staff would have heard her decision by midnight. No point in discussing things further. She nodded at the Divination professor as though she would think things through. Quote:

"What do you mean, your--" he tried to cut her off but she seemed determined to talk on. She wanted to resign? No no, no. Botros had a calm reaction to the news, it wasn't the first time he'd seen a colleague/boss resign. It was the first time they resigned after an acromantula attack, though. "Li--" but professor Morgan was obviously with them in this conversation? Ab glanced at her for a moment then back to Annie. This was a talk between the headmistress and her deputy, really. "Listen Annie, I will fetch you whatever you want. Just have some food, we'll get you a glass of wine and after the adrenaline has all but subsided, we can talk about life-changing decisions," he gave her arm a gently pat.
"The kidnapping wasn't your fault," he added quietly. "Hogwarts is a place injected with intense magic power, it'll always draw new and odd forces. Nobody can stop that, what matters is that we always win in the end. It keeps us safe somehow, even if not in the way that we expect," he nodded confidently. Reaaaalllly though, once the Bunzinator's mind was made up, it was very difficult to change it. She exhaled noisily through her nose and blotted her mouth with a napkin. "Very well, Abraham. I see this is something we are going to need to talk about later, in my office, over some wine. I will summon you when I am ready. For now, we need to focus on getting these students cleaned up, fed, and off to bed. I trust you will see that that happens."
And with that, she left her dirty napkin on her brownie plate and vacated the Great Hall because she too needed some rest.
