Lynley is extremely neat, organized, and has a place or spot for everything in her life, including family, friends, and coworkers. She takes her job very seriously and will not stand for someone inhibiting her in any way. She can take any mess and clean it up in no time.

Lynley is also crisp, on time, and will not stand for sloppy work, behavior, or work space. She expects the best from her peers and employees, as well as those from other departments. Her ambition is strong and has led her a long way, finally landing her the job here, at the Ministry. She likes rules, and thinks that rules should be followed to a T. She is unafraid to discipline, and will always do what has to be done for the good of the department and the safety of others.

She is blunt to the point of rudeness, and can often rub employees the wrong way. However, she does have the best interest of everyone in her heart(however cold it may be). She is hardly affectionate, and shows her like for people in odd, hardly apparent ways. Lynley is often harsh and critical of those around her, as well as harsh and critical of her own work, because she wants to perform to the BEST of her abilities at all times.

Lynley was the oldest of three, born to her English father and Russian mother, who had moved to England after meeting her father in University. They lived in Coventry, and owned a good bit of land there in order to maintain their magical privacy. Travis was a writer for a sports column while her mother worked at the Ministry in the IC. Neither of her parents continued working, though, after the death of Marshall Purcell.

Lynley was eight when her four-year-old brother got a toy broom for his birthday. The family was unaware of the faulty charm work done on the broom, and when Marshall sat on it, the broom rose into the air and bucked around, finally throwing Marshall to the ground in tragedy. Both of her parents quit their jobs, in mourning, and would never work again. Travis still writes in his spare time and attends any and all Quidditch matches that he can stand. Renee refuses to go anywhere near a broomstick.

Lynley became interested in the transportation side of broom sticks while at Hogwarts. Charms was easily her best subject, and she dreamed of one day being able to make sure that no one else would ever get hurt due to faulty charm work on broomsticks. Her brother’s death had hit her hard, and in school, she was quiet a lot due to her unresolved emotions over it. Eventually, Lynley would see a counselor for her grief, when she was sixteen, but her idea of how rules should be followed and regulations in full force were ingrained in her already. She liked being in charge, and she liked overseeing projects get done, as well as making sure that everything happened without any shotty spellwork. Lynley is quite paranoid about riding a broomstick, now, and is much more on board with getting magic carpets legalized.

She was a Slytherin at Hogwarts, but she didn’t truly make any good friends until she went to University at Moscow Wizarding University, where she studied Charms spellwork in depth. She got a job with Firebolt Industries pretty quickly after graduating from University, just doing the charms’ work on the brooms, following protocol, etc. She eventually rose up in the ranks, due to her stellar ambition and leadership skills, and became the head of the committee in charge of charming the brooms. Lynley made sure no broom didn’t pass the strenuous tests she would put them through to make sure they were regulated properly. Eventually, she was asked to consult the group of lobbyists wanting to legalize magic carpets, and Lynley continues to lobby for that today.

Her personal life is pretty separate from her work life. She has dated in the past, but lately is too busy with her work goals to date much. She has friends, and she remains close with her family, but work is her life. She eats, breathes, and LIVES work. It is very important to her…and someone does something to mess up everything she’s worked for
