~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ It was only a few steps into the Great Hall, but it was enough to nearly sap him off what energy he had left. Part of him wished that Sophie hadn't decided to cling to him so much, but at the same time, he was grateful for it. Her presence reminded him he needed to keep on his feet. To appear immobile and strong, even if he hardly felt it.
The waft of fresh-ish air in the Great Hall (if one could call baked goods, student sweat and sickly perfume fresh), helped a little. As did seeing all the students gathered, despite the various levels of distress on their faces. And there were Professor's too. A sigh of relief left him, and nearly took his legs out from under him.
With a shaking hand, he sheathed one of his wands. Now half-free, he patted one of Sophie's hands that was clinging to him with a death grip. "You did good. Go check in with your head of house."
They were taking numbers right? And Maddox was organizing the resistance. And Airey....well Starman looked exactly like Sabel felt. There was no amount of expression as to how much he wanted to join the other man along the wall, in the same sort of recharging posture.
He sucked in a breath and worked the tingling out of his hand still clutching his wand. He would just, stay by the doors and try not to lean against them. Stay here in case another student tried to get in, or a spider wanted to try their luck.
