What would they be learning? Penelope jotted down a few notes about adhaero and waited for the next question. "Posters are excellent use of the spell. Keeps them attached to the wall where other muggles mean might see them sagging after awhile." Of course she was also right about not getting body parts stuck otherwise things would get real awkward real fast. SPOILER!!: Henric Quote:

Coming from first 'hand' experience.
Maddox blinked at the Hufflepuff that might have in fact been suffering from a minor concussion with the way he was talking. "I'd hope anyone in that fix would know better unless they'd like to tear flesh." Powerful spell was powerful and the thought of pulling against it alone had him cringing. "Good point Mister Nicolei." SPOILER!!: Angel Quote:

Angel raised her hand as she tried to think of something to do with the spell. "It's revisable right, you can unstick something after awhile if you want to move the item you have stuck to somewhere else." "We'll actually be coming to that point in a bit, excellent mention Miss Valentine. Nothing has to stay stuck forever if you know the right counter-spell for the job."
Right on the galleon this one was and in a moment they would all figure out why. Good to know the thought was already put out there. Made him less liable. SPOILER!!: Janelle Quote:

Professor Quigley revealed some information on the spell Adhaero. Of course a question followed about the charm. Janelle was a little familiar with it, but she didn't really know anything that hadn't already been said. So......since this was an "open book test", she went to her textbook and began to search for some information about Adhaero. Hopefully she could find a good fact to share.
It might have bothered him that Miss Guidry had opted for silence but then he noted the fact she was actively going through her text. Ravenclaws did that more often than not so he supposed he could live with that and wait until she finally had a response for him. Until then there was no harm in going to the next person who had an answer to offer. SPOILER!!: Aubrey Quote:

It was the least the spiders could do. Her mind went to the spiders she had in a jar upstairs. They would be getting a talking to.
AJ had more of a question instead of an answer. "I know you can stick objects, but it can work on a human too, yeah?" Especially if the answer her sister gave was true. This could be dead useful.
The Charms Professor gave a simple nod of confirmation. "Quite uncomfortable it was. Didn't think I'd make it out before whatever it was came back but somehow I did. How they stay on those things I'll never understand." But that might have been because he was viewing it from the standpoint of being the PREY and that was never comfortable for anyone.
Ahem, back to the lesson. "It'll work just as well on humans, it's why we don't suggest getting body parts caught on anything that this spell has been cast on. You'll never believe the trouble you'll have to go through to get it OFF." SPOILER!!: Adi Quote:

Adhaero. Ah, yep. Sticking Charms were like the evil webbies. Bleh. The Hufflepuff had not thought of this earlier. He wouldn't develop a mild phobia for those charms and anything sticky related, right? Hand up now, Adi said, " We need to trace the outline of whatever we are sticking with our wands saying the incantation at the same time.''
More information about the spell. The students were on a roll this morning, if you excused everything else that happened since they got here. Honestly, he did wonder about these students sometimes. "Thank you Mister Rehman, a very important point to be sure. The object will have to be traced for wherever you want made sticky." SPOILER!!: Hady Quote:

Listening to Professor Quigley explain why he asked about the spiders web it all made sense when he asked about the Adhero charm. At least they weren't working with spiders now. Slowly raising her hand she gave a simple answer, "Whatever you're sticking together sticks instantly so there's no need to wait for it to dry and no mess to clean up." Those were definitely pluses in her book. How liked cleaning up glue and stuff? Not this third year girl.
Ah one of the more convenient things mentioned about this spell they wouldn't be learning. "Excellent Miss Lynch. Indeed there's no wait time on this spell which makes it brilliant when you're in a rush. Just have to be careful even in that rush because it'll be ridiculously hard to spearate them without the right counter-spell." As Miss Valentine had mentioned earlier but again, they would be discussing that in a minute. SPOILER!!: Eden Quote:

But she raised her hand, because she thought she remembered reading somewhere that.... "Don't you have to say the spell for as long as you trace the outline of the object you want to stick? Like...you draaaaaag the word out?" Eden was having second thoughts. Maybe she'd made that up...but it was unlikely...
Hmm. "That's also an important point to remember, yes, very good Miss McGee." Otherwise you'd have a bunch of kids who SWORE they had it stuck but when they checked things were falling apart. It wouldn't be a problem in THIS lesson but it was still good to have for general knowledge in the event they ever needed to pull for this spell. SPOILER!!: Zander Quote:

Ahem.
Anyways. Moving on. He did feel slightly bad for Agatha, what did the girl do to deserve four extra laps? 'Cause boy was Zander relieved that they were done running now. Except Agatha wasn't. Apparently. Why he felt bad though, he wasn't quite sure. The girl hadn't ever been seriously nice to him before. But weren't they sort of friends? Zander couldn't ever be sure. So eh. Whatever. He was going to sit.
And was it just him or was Professor Q giving him a look?
What did it take to get on this guy's good side? If he really did have one, that is.
As for the next question, Zander took his time to take out his textbook, though he didn't open the pages after realizing he had gone over this charm for his exam prep last term. It didn't even come up on the exam which was absolutely bogus, but he did memorize... Or at least attempt to memorize all the charms. All the others seemed to have perfect answers for the question though, and Zander didn't really want to repeat an answer because might as well just not answer, y'know? So he listened to what his classmates had to offer before sitting and thinking long and hard about what he would say. Hmph. "I think there's another spell that can unstick stuff, so Adhaero probably isn't as permanent as a permanent sticking charm?" Uh. Cause permanent sticking charm means that it'd be very difficult to undo and..... Well that's what permanent meant and unsticking would mean not permanent. At least we know that Zander knows his vocab words? Okay. At least he tried. Running around a classroom requires a lot of brainpower, okay? Took it all up.
Still eyeing Mister Adair, still giving him the general look that was slated especially for the boy. Of course he was waiting for a response, and in the event the Gryffindor didn't have one, well he'd just have to reprimand him for not taking the initiative to check his text like he'd given the option to.
Thankfully the boy did come up with something, something that would actually be useful in the lesson. "Very good, Mister Adair. For a permanent sticking charm, it has it's weak point but with good reason. Imagine having glued your hand to a wall by accident." Being stuck to a wall wasn't nearly as appealing as some might think. SPOILER!!: Toby Quote:
Originally Posted by Felixir Awwww, what? They had to sit down? That had been... so fun. LIKE LITERALLY ACTUALLY FUN. Toby was definitely AWAKE now. More awake and bouncy than he'd been when they came in. ALL THANKS TO PROFESSOR QUIGLEY!
Aaaanything he knew? Well. Toby's hand went UP. "It sounds a bit like... 'adhere, yo'. Like, 'YO, you there, do the sticking thing', y'know? Which is cool." Bouncebouncebounce in his seat.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. "My dad once used it to stick me to the ceiling this one time, after I gave him a glittery makeover while he was asleep. So it was helpful for HIM that day, 'cause he got his revenge, but a nuisance for ME, 'cause I was on the ceiling for HOURS AND HOURS." Okay, maybe not HOURS, because Toby was just being dramatic, but shhh. It had FELT like hours. Like a time-out on the ceiling. Super fun, really. "And you really do get stuck. I didn't fall until they let me down."
True story. Toby BEAMED and NODDED.
Unbelievable.
HE HAD BEEN WATCHING THE BOY THIS WHOLE TIME. There was no sugar taken in during the run but somehow the boy seemed even more.....hyper. What was this sorcery? .__.
Only reason the overly concerned look left was the story the boy had relayed, one that actually had the man chuckling. "An excellent suggestion if you ask me...though I can think of an ankle-biter or three who'd enjoy it." Christopher would, for the experience....his youngest twins would enjoy....for being stuck on the ceiling. On second thought this didn't sound much like punishment at all. Only person who'd get it after would be HIM when his wife was through with him.
Moving away from this idea... SPOILER!!: Agatha Quote:

Seated. Like everyone else. No extra laps.
None.
Oh, Agatha was totally fit and she could SO do the extra 4 laps, but she had a point to make, and that was that SHE was the boss of herself, not the professor. Case closed.
Eyeing the blackboard, she wasn't excited at all about learning new things. In fact, she was 100% sure all of the things said today weren't going to stay in her brain for too long. But eh, at least she was there and wouldn't get in trouble back home anymore.
Yeah...so....that just happened. "Uh...huh..." Know what else just happened? The sudden searing heat coming from the girls chair with the flick of his wand. It wouldn't prove particularly harmful....unless she sat there too long and it burned a hole straight through her skirt and onto her legs but everyone had choices, he would leave her to make hers. "Thank you for volunteering your evening for detention with me. I'm touched you've put in the effort to spend some quality time with me though in future I suggest a less disruptive approach. Apples are nice. I expect you at 6 sharp." Perfectly calm. This didn't even bother him. "And that'll be 5 points from Slytherin." Absolutely calm. SPOILER!!: Sophie Quote:

Spiders were MEGA cool and she loved soaking up as much knowledge in knowing how things worked, so this was just right up her alley. Still, he'd agreed that it WAS mega cool and that it WAS very interesting, so she gave him a THUMBS UP. WOOP.
She was grateful when they were allowed to stop and she got herself settled back down, glad her name wasn't Miss Hapgood (who looked as though she wasn't going to do any extra laps anyway), and looked curious at the professor's questions. Adhaero was a simple enough spell and she wondered what they WOULD be learning today, then, if this was just going over the basics. A hand raised to offer up an answer - even though she knew it was just going to make Quiggles judge her nerdiness again - then faltered briefly when Zander spoke. Her hand went up even MORE eagerly, then, demanding attention to add onto what Zanderpander had said, "Avexis is the unsticking charm that'll undo Adhaero like he said, for the record." Worth noting the counter of it, right? But she wasn't being OVERLY nerdy. So ha. In your face, Quiggles.
...And then Tobes was telling a story she knew all too well and... she was gone, burying her face in her hands and giggling and hardly able to stop. TOBIAS PLS. "Just can't help yourself, can you?" Asked not maliciously but with the faintest hints of an amused smile. While others made mention of the existence of a counter-spell, Miss Brown saw it fit to educate the masses on just what this spell was. "Correct, Avexis is the spell we turn to when we've gotten things stuck that we ought not and we'll get more into that in another moment."
Just had to give others a chance to reply. SPOILER!!: Beverly Quote:

...Nah.
This was much more amusing. He probably thought she'll jump him or something. LOL. And he was asking more questions. Beverly liked Charm questions. She raised her hand yet again.
"Isn't there two ways of casting Adhaero? One you can just quick cast it, or you can trace the outline of whatever it is you're charming." That's why it was easy for pranks. The former way of casting it.
She would know. Kennedy still resented her for that one time. Oops.
...
What was with the look.....Maddox slowly bit into his apple, not daring to take his eyes off the girl for even a second. The snake was up to something and if it took him awhile he was going to figure out WHAT. "Uh-huuuuhhhh...." STARE. "Quite right Miss Wayne. For the less thorough among us, it is possible to get it done with a quick cast, it simply requires a little more concentration as you'll have to tell the spell where to glue without showing it the contour with your wand." SPOILER!!: Kate Quote:

As Kate lowered her hand, she cast a glance in Toby's direction. She loved hearing his answers in class. They made her laugh, although she was laughing on the inside and not on the outside. She was sure it wasn't funny at the time, but to hear him tell it now, it at least gave Kate a small laugh. "Correct Miss Addison, the spell can and is typically cast by drawing the wand along the areas you want glued." He trusted she'd just heard her classmates response so he wouldn't repeat the ability to cast without tracing but she got the point and they were just about ready to move on. SPOILER!!: Dot Quote:
Originally Posted by Cassirin Sticky like spider webs? That was useful, more useful than a permanent spell that didn't allow for mistakes, but how easily and often did it fall apart?
Dot raised her hand and wiggled her fingers wildly at the Professor Man, who she was surprised did NOT know about apple poisoning. Apple pips were poisonous in great quantity. Obviously. "How strong is it, sir? Like can you stick a person to a WALL? And does it degrade over time? Can you use it to stick a hem on a skirt if you want to make it shorter and it'll go through washings?" So many questions.
So many questions indeed.
Maddox tried organizing his thoughts, figuring it would be the best way to get all her questions answered. There was something about a wall and the wash. Right. "It's actually a powerful spell, Miss Wojack, permanent sticking and all so sticking a person to the wall is very much possible--as Tobias just mentioned." What with his father sticking him to the ceiling and all. No questions asked, he didn't wanna know. "And it does degrade over time but it depends on the strength of the spell when it was first cast and the caster's intent. I think it's safe to say it's safe going through washings."
Nevermind there was a separate charm for sewing that would fix that right up.
And if that was the last of the responses then it was fine to move the class forward. This would be the first funny little stop on their class tour of the morning...for him anyway. "As some of you mentioned, there is a spell to counter this one. Miss Brown was kind enough to give us the incantation 'Avexis'. The 'v' is typically pronounced as a 'w' which gives it a slightly different sound from the way it's spelled." Again the chalk got busy scribbling until the word came on the board. Quote:

Might be he forot to mention he tampered with those before they sat (with the exception of Miss Hapgood's) and might be he forgot to tell them before now. "Once you've gotten yourself off the chairs we can move to the main event." OOC: You guys will have about 36 hrs to get this done in three posts. They don't have to get it right the first time and I encourage very silly outcomes. Just have fun and we'll get to the big bang in a bit ^^
