Like Matryoshka dolls! Or, well, Chinese boxes as the dolls were a more modern interpretation of the boxes. Also a literary device seen in some of Plato's work and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
But all that was beside the point because there were boxes that needed opening.
More than two apparently...
...and three...
...four...
...five...sweet solstice how many of these were there? Was this a test of the patience of one's curiosity? Because it was game on and he was not going to lose this battle. Neither Plato nor Mary Shelley had been on Maggie's mind while making this special mystery box.
She watched him go through all the individual boxes until he reached the last one. Which was filled with A LOT OF small pieces of shredded pink paper. If he went through them he miiiiight just find the actual contents of the mystery box. Maybe.
Although he probably risked a papercut or two. |
