Like having daddy say that he loved her. She knew he did, but hearing it when he tucked her in to bed at night always helped her sleep more peacefully. Which would maybe be why she had slept so horribly over the Christmas holidays. Had not heard those words for a while now.

"Let's go purchase these and head back to the castle?" she suggested, somehow managing to hold all her Sugar Quills with one hand so she could reach for Thornton's hand...or elbow...or some part of his arm to hold on to to lead them to the register.

Ok, wow, that was a lot of affection and Thornton's cheek was warm, though whether it was simply the actual contact or something else, he couldn't tell. But as Paige rocked them a few times, it wasn't a pressing concern. It was... really easy to be happy when Paige was around and he rarely overthought things the way he did with other people. It was nice. "Yeah. Yeah it is."

Since Thornton's hands were full of candy, he looked down at Paige's attempt to hold on and jutted out an elbow to let her link her arm through his. "To the register," he said brightly, walking that way with her. "And then we can go find a spot to eat."
