"Hello Mr. Whittebrook. I'm sure your son will have lots of fun today." She said, giving the man a shake of the hand back. An if his son didn't have fun today, there were ways to improve it of course. "We've been planning this for a long time, so I do hope it's successful and that the kids enjoy themselves." The blonde added giving him a smile. She watched as he parted ways with Henry, his son, whom seemed to already be introducing himself to another girl and boy, good, he was taking initiative.
Saxon watched as the kids were already starting to talk amongst themselves and that pushed some pressure off of her. They all seemed sociable and seemed to get on well, so there was nothing to worry about there and she hoped it would make the whole experience even better. Let's make friendships happen! Suddenly, though there was a small boy by her side. "That's why you're here, to learn how to play." He knew why he was here right? He didn't need to preoccupy himself and feel odd for not knowing anything about the game beforehand. "Emmm, sweet- Cornelius, we haven't started yet." She'd only just made a quick introduction.
Apparently there was a girl whom had liked Saxon's name and she gave her a little thumbs up and smile back! That was lovely to hear, wasn't it? "Thank you!" She said towards the girl.
All the kids were getting to know each other, which was good, there was a buzzing going around the room from all the talk. Saxon wasn't sure if she should let them continue talking... as long as they paid attention or to tell them to... "PLEASE keep it to a general quiet over there. We're trying to teach how to play gobstones..." Saxon addressed the kid who'd gotten a bunch of gobstones and was doing some VERY LOUD chanting. She wasn't very good with discipline and kids, most likely because she never had a chance to interact with many beforehand.
"Please, grab some gobstones if you haven't done so already. Do not take too many, though, leave enough for the others." Saxon added to those shy ones or perhaps ones who hadn't heard her earlier. She glanced at Lynnia and let her speak, nodding her head here and there showing attention. Ok. Now, the kiddos should pay attention here. "First, you want to make your hand into a fist. After you do that make sure your thumb knuckle is tucked into your index finger." She showed them that first with her hand. "Then you're going to extend your index finger and put the gobstones in between that finger and your thumb. You can either lay down on your stomach or crouch and use your thumb finger to flick the gobstones forward." Did they get all of that? If Lynnia, Geffrey or Brynja had any advice or anything to add on now was the time, they were the experts after all, besides that, help will be there.
"If you need any help we'll be going around. You can get started." Saxon said giving them all an encouraging smile. Oh! "And another thing, do NOT flick the gobstones on each other for 'fun' purposes." Please don't.
She then returned her attention to Cornelius. "Do you think you'll still need help?"
As well, perhaps during the practicing portion of the lesson the athletes would explain what the purpose of the game was.
