Matthew turned away from his son and glanced up as a woman about his daughter's age came in. Oh, she was the person in charge and yes, he recognized the name. "It's nice to put a face with the name, Saxon," he said with a pleasant smile, offering his hand to shake. "I'm Matthew Whittebrook, I'm the owner of the Tinworth Talons." Being a newer owner of the team, he hadn't yet met her face to face, but going over paperwork with the team manager, he was familiar with who dealt with Gobstones at the Ministry. And knowing that several players on his team would be here, he noticed that Milo and Magnolia had come in to work with the younger kids, but he hadn't seen Brynja yet. "I've signed up my son, Henry, for the activities today. I'm glad your department is doing this." He thought it important for kids today to appreciate the game for what it was and all that it could be.
And it seemed that they were about ready to start. Or at least somewhat. Matthew listened to Saxon address all the kids, then he turned to Henry. "Alright, kiddo, have fun. I'll be back a little later to pick you up." It was nice that there were other kids his age too, some Henry even seemed to know. He kind of wanted to see how it would go, but he knew he didn't need to check up on his kid or his players. So, after giving Henry a pat on his shoulder, he left the daycare to take care of other things for the day.
Henry's eyes first snapped from his dad to the lady telling his dad to leave. He guessed she was in charge, but wouldn't any of the Talons be here? They were his favorite, of course. He started looking around as some other adults came in, they were Gobstones players, he knew it! He was starting to get excited now, though maybe not as excited as the boy yelling his head off. Gosh.
Turning, he smiled at a girl now talking to him (Ava). "Hi! I'm Henry," he returned the introduction, then nodded. "Yep, I love Gobstones.... do you?" He figured she must at least like them or else she wouldn't be here. And then, ohmygosh, he saw one of his friends from Quidditch Camp!! "Hi Benton!' He gave him a big grin. "Yep! My dad signed me up. I didn't know you were gonna be here either." He almost said something about his dad owning one of the teams, but his dad kept on telling him about not bragging about Quidditch and Gobstones stuff. So he kept that quiet for now.
He looked as another boy (Kirk) maybe a little younger than him came in with probably his dad. Was his dad a player? That was cool.. He smiled when the boy said hi and his name. "Hi, I'm Henry!" He started to ask about his dad, but then the lady in charge started talking again. Oooh, time to start! "I already know all that," he said to the lady, Saxon, when she said about the basics. He was a great Gobstones player! But he did like the part about fun that she said at the end. At her mention, he ran over and grabbed a swirly green colored gobstone. While he was there, he saw another boy he remember from Quidditch Camp (Cornelius) (though he didn't remember his name)! "Hi!" he grinned at him. Were they ready to get started now?
