be curious, not judgmental There was visible relief that crossed Sophie's entire demeanor when Flamsteed said he accepted both of their apologies... until there was a "but," and Soph tensed back up, her expression hard and worried all over again--
Detention? She mellowed, her eyes widening slightly, but then he mentioned tickling, and it took everything within her to keep from snorting, though there was the tiniest hint of a smile at the corners of her mouth. He would give them a detention where their punishment was TICKLING? Hahahahahahahahaahaha.
The laughter bubbled in her throat, but it didn't escape, and she brought her hand up to the crease of her arm to cough into it to keep from letting any of her giggles spill out. When she had a handle on things, she offered the professor a firm nod. "Understood, professor. If you were a hugging man, you'd be gettin' one. Thanks for sparing our lives and understanding that everyone makes mistakes. We won't let you down in the future."
Luckily (but mostly unluckily for other reasons) Tobes only had half a term left - they COULD survive that long without getting into further mischief, couldn't they? She didn't think it would've been possible to make that kind of promise if this had happened many terms ago, but this was nothing they couldn't handle. Flamsteed was smiling, too, then, and addressing Tobes, and Sophie took the opportunity to sigh in proper relief now, threw a sideways glance and grin over to Culloden over yonder, then sunk down to the floor to help Tobes find his wand.
No one was going to, like, step on it, were they?
...Also, did this mean Tobes was going to be okay and he wasn't going to hate her and want to friendship break up?
