My full birth given name is Aubrey Janel Valentine. You see my family is kind of hung up on names that begin with the letter A. Everybody is the family for as far back as I can remember starts with an A. It's quite unoriginal if you ask me. The tradition will not continue on with my children though. As far as I know I wasn't named after anyone. Most likely my parents just threw a bunch of A names into a hat and pulled them out. I do think I faired better than my sisters though.

My nickname is AJ. Really all there is to that nickname is the mashing of my first and middle name. I love my nickname because it has a tomboy-ish feel to it. I really hate girly sounding names. I think Aubrey sounds way too girly, and really nobody calls me that. My mom has this really annoying habit of calling people by their full name. She doesn't like the use of nicknames.

Aubrey is supposed to mean king of the elves which is pretty funny. Maybe I will be a ruler of some sort when I grow up. Too bad it doesn't say anything about unicorns. Of course I believe that you choose your own destiny in life so I can rule what I want.

January 20th 2087

Once I graduate Hogwarts, I plan on attending a university to study creatures. I will be a veterinarian to magical creatures. I absolutely love creatures, and I hate to see any of them hurt. It will bring me so much joy to be able to help them. It’s a job that I wouldn’t even really consider work because it is something I enjoy.

My goals for when I turn of age is to get a place of my own so I can start on my unicorn farm. Adi is going to get me my first one. I want to have lots of space so I can have room for various animals. I want my independence from my sisters. Living away from them will be something that may be challenging, but it is a personal goal for me. I want to just be AJ Valentine, and not just a triplet.

I also have set goals to better my Hogwarts career while I am here. I am working on getting better scores in class and on my homework. Showing up on time to classes, and putting in better effort is something I am also trying to accomplish. This year has been my best year yet. I can’t wait to see what the rest of my life had in store for me.

February 8th 2087

I think it’s pretty safe to say that my special talent is baseball even though that is probably more of a hobby. I say I have a special talent because I am that good at it. I discovered the sport when my dad took me on a trip to America. Apparently, it’s really big there. I went to a game, and fell in love. The atmosphere is great, but you get to hit a ball with a bat. It really doesn’t get much better than that.

When I got back home all I wanted to do was play. My dad was nice enough to buy my supplies much to my mom’s dismay. I made all the neighbor kids, friends and my sister’s play with me. I was instantly good at it even though I had no sort of practice or knowledge other than watching that one game live.

Every summer when I go home I play the sport. I wish there was a baseball team that I could be a part of. For now I just continue to play for fun. Also, I can wiggle my ears which is pretty cool. It sort of freaks my mom out.

I think what makes me unique is that I am really a boy in a girls body. I am who I am, and I don't try to be someone I am not to fit in. I hate wearing make-up, heels, doing my hair, and dressing up in general. I like to wear my hair up with jeans and a t-shirt on. I prefer converse or tennis shoes to wear. I like getting dirty and being "rough".

I know I can be quirky and some people might think that's weird, but I think that is just what makes me, me. If I have something on my mind I am going to say it. I don't people's approval and I think that is very rare to find in people my age. Everybody wants to look or act a certain way to be considered a cool kid, and I don't care about that at all.

I guess I just think I am unique because I stay true to myself, and pretty much have a carefree attitude. I'm also pretty passionate and love probably way too hard, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm real and true to myself.

February 21st 2087

Washing the dishes is the worst thing you can make your kids do. I have a pretty nice size family so plates, knifes, forks, cups are all duplicated a million times. My mom thinks she is fancy too, and insists on usually china instead of paper plates so it takes forever to clean everything. I have a habit of putting it off for a while too, and that is the worse because everything gets all caked on there. Then you have to scrub and scrub to get the food residue off.

Something I really hate when it's my week to do the dishes is when my sisters bring a cup in that looks like something died in it. Most likely it had been underneath someone's bed for the last century, and now I have to work my magic to get it clean. Too bad I can't actually use magic because that would make my life so much easier.

My parents thought it would be cool if we got a dishwasher, but really that isn't much help because you practically have to wash the dishes before you put them in the machine. What is the point of that? Don't even get me started on the crusty dishes. You might as well just do them yourselves because nothing is more frustrating then going through the cycle and finding that the dishes are still dirty. Talk about a major disappointment. Not to mention double duty. Thank goodness for the sprayer. It bring me a little job during my torture.

March 1st 2087

I come from an all muggle family. Come to find out, my sisters and I were really magical. How that happened I have no idea, but I sure am glad that it did. Before coming to Hogwarts I had your regular muggle classes like English, Math, Science and normal subjects. They were all pretty boring if you ask me. Science was pretty cool because as we started getting in higher grades at school we got to do experiments. Still, there wasn’t anything special about it. In fact I was constantly in trouble at school because I get bored very easily. Nothing really kept my attention.

In my opinion muggle school doesn’t even compare to Hogwarts. I feel like a magical education is what I’ve been missing. Sure, I still get in trouble every now and again, but it’s a different kind of trouble. It’s more like curiosity gets the best of me, and I can’t help myself. Hogwarts is definitely my favorite out of the two. I love learning spells and how to handle magical creatures. It is definitely my home.

It’s really hard to choose just one subject to be my favorite, but if I had to, I would say Care of Magical Creatures. I love animals, and it’s so amazing that we have a class here that focuses completely on that. When you are passionate about something it makes it that much more fun to learn more things about that certain subject. I am so happy when I am in that class and the homework assignments don’t feel like homework because I thoroughly enjoy myself while doing them.

My least favorite subject is Ancient Runes. Arithmancy came in close second and that is because it deals with a lot of numbers and makes me instantly think of muggle math. I’m rubbish at that too. I don’t care for Ancient Runes just because it’s confusing. That class makes my head hurt. Maybe I should ask for extra help.

March 15th 2087

There are so many cool professors at Hogwarts that it’s really hard for me to choose. Do I go with the one that makes me laugh, summons tacos for me during lessons, is really a kid herself, or one that keeps me out of trouble? All of the professors have some pretty wicked qualities. Professor Bellaire and the healer lady might be the only exemption to that rule. Maybe they are just misunderstood, but they don’t give off a good vibe.

Since I can only pick one I will say that Professor Tanner is my favorite. She’s really nice and always lets us have fun in class. Really, what put her over the top was her summoning tacos for me to eat in class. Tacos are my favorite food, and the way to my heart is through my belly. Everybody is really great though.

If I could choose any kind of advice to give someone it would be to follow your dreams. There are going to be plenty of people that doubt you, and even tell you that it’s impossible. Don’t listen to them. Do what makes you happy because at the end of the day you really can only ever count on yourself. Sure, you can have amazing people in your life, but you and you alone can make yourself happy. It starts with you.

There will be obstacles that get in the way and they will slow you down. Don’t let this discourage you. Even if it takes you longer to get where you are going, keep at it. Be true to yourself and accomplish whatever your heart desires regardless of what other people think. This is your life to live, and life is beautiful. Go out and there and make something of yourself.

The most influential person in my life would have to be my dad. I have always been a daddies’ girl, and probably the closest thing he will ever have to having a son. Since day one he has been my best friend. He is the nicest person you will ever meet. He would give a stranger the shirt of his back if the stranger needed it. That man is always smiling and seeing the world in a positive light regardless of what may be going on in his personal life.

I aspire to be like my dad because he is a genuine person, and I love that about him. I love that he is so caring, and fun at the same time. He has the perfect balance when it comes to his personality. He can joke with you, and be your shoulder to cry on all while helping people in need. I hope to be the person he is some day. I hope my future children can think these things about me. I hope to aspire others like my dad.

The best thing that has ever happened to me is being able to call Hogwarts my home. Being magical has changed my life. I really feel as if this was that I was born to do. Not to mention all of the amazing relationships I have made because of Hogwarts. I met my amazing boyfriend Adi who is really me made over. He makes me so happy and I love that I can also call him my best friend. Knowing that he exists, I can’t imagine him not being in my life.

I’ve made some pretty good friends like Benny, Lux, Zeke, Zander and others that mean a lot to me too. If Hogwarts didn’t exist then I would never have known these people that are all pretty special to me. I also like how I get to explore this whole new world with my sisters by my side.

April 10th 2087

I have two pets. One is a golden retriever named Rufus and the other is an owl named Otis. I’ve had Rufus since I was a kid. Really, I share him with my sisters, but he totally likes me better. He’s really cool and laid back until he thinks a member of our family is in trouble. He’s a really loyal dog. One time I climbed a tree in our yard all the way to the top, and well Rufus didn’t like that. He didn’t like that one bit. He barked his head off, and refused to stop until I came down to safety. He can be a bit much sometimes. I was never truly in danger.

Otis can be a bit moody. He hurt himself not too long ago and I made this healing bracelet in Ancient Runes and decided to give that a try. Well, Otis didn’t like that one bit. He chewed it off of his foot and it broke into a million pieces. When he’s feeling okay he’s pretty chill though, so I forgave him.

April 25th 2087

A recent accomplishment of mine has been getting to classes on time, doing all of my homework and really putting forth effort. This is something that I never really did in muggle school. The same could be said for my first few years at Hogwarts too. I was much better than here than I was at my previous school, but I still wasn’t great. I think at first I was so amazed at everything and viewed Hogwarts as an adventure when really I should have taken my studies more seriously.

My OWL year is next year, and I decided what I want to be when I grow up so I need to get it together. This is a major improvement for me, and I really hope that I can keep it up. So far it has been working out for me and some of my professors are taking notice. It’s a great feeling.

May 12th 2087

The first memory that sticks out in my mind is jumping on the couches at home. I’m not even sure how old I was. If I had to guess I would say about six years old or so. I remember having a great time jumping up and down on my mom’s new couch. To make it a little more interesting I would hop from the couch to the chair, and then back again. I was having the time of my life until my mom caught me. Maybe I was laughing too loud or maybe one of my sisters told on me. That was one thing you always had to worry about growing up with siblings.

Well, my mom wasn’t very happy about it. She yelled at me which is something that she doesn’t do that often. She made me go in time out for what felt like forever, and then I was to go to my room to continue thinking about why I’m not supposed to jump on furniture. The joke’s on her because I am fifteen now, and I still jump on furniture. I guess that was one lesson that didn’t quite stick. I’m not sure why this is my first memory. Maybe because I was having so much fun and somebody just had to spoil it.

May 25th 2087

I sent an owl to my grandpa, and let me just tell you that he got a major kick out of the owl delivery. Anyways, he sent me back a pretty lengthy letter about one of his favorite stories that involved me. According to him when I was about three years old my sisters and I decided to get into some make-up. Angel and Abby had it all over their faces, and I didn’t want any part of it. They held me down and made me look like a clown. He says that I was screaming and crying. He and my grandma had to separate us girls and it took them forever to soothe me.

He says to this day this is why he thinks I am not a fan of make-up and why I don’t like being forced to do something I don’t want to. He says that I have always been very strong willed and not afraid to stand my ground. My grandpa thinks it’s pretty amazing how very different triplets can be even when you share the same face with one.
