Right then. Toby could totally sit here and cuddle Griffin all day, but it occurred to him that he probably wouldn't get graded on his cuddle abilities (though imagine getting an Outstanding in that). Still looking at Griffin, and subconsciously rooking her in a soothing sort of way, he tilted his head.

"So... what should we do?" he asked her, as though he was fully expecting a response. "You hungry?" She stared. "Bored?" More staring, and a head tilt. "Want a bath?" SQUAWK!

Toby... admittedly didn't know if that meant yes or no. 'Cause yeah, he could totally talk to animals and all that, absolutely, yep... but baby animals were harder to understand, like baby humans. Not impossible, just more difficult. He looked at Griffin's face. Yea or nay? She just griffin'd back at him. Well... she was gonna get a bath, 'cause she probably needed one.

"Okay. Bath." SQUAWK! "Uh-huh." SQUAAAWWK! "I know."

He set Griffin down again, and made to get up so he could leave the stable and go get a bucket and sponges and soap or shampoo or something, but when Griffin caught wind of the fact that he was about to leave, she let out another great SQUAWK and looked at him with THE SADDEST EYES and Toby knew that he couldn't just WALK AWAY. So he sat back down again, and drew his wand.

"Accio." He flicked his wand out towards the stable doors, summoning what he needed while Griffin did her usual trick of clambering all over him. Toby simply let her, because she was cute and adorable and playful and it was endearing. The bucket soon turned up, followed by a brush like when they'd cleaned the Hippogriffs that time, some sponges and some soapy-shampoo-washy stuff. After setting the bucket down in front of him, while Griffin sat in his lap and watched, Toby pointed his wand inside of it. "Aguamenti."

The bucket quickly filled with pure, clear water, almost all the way to the top. But it was cold water, of course, and they wanted warm, so Toby next stuck the tip of his wand into the water and performed the Hot Air Charm. It was an unconventional way of doing things, but it was fun. As his wand blasted out a ton of hot air, the water began to bubble and steam, like a cool jacuzzi or something. When he finally cancelled the spell and lifted his wand out, the water level was much lower, on account of how it had evaporated and all, but it was quite warm to the touch. He'd let that cool down a bit, though added some of the shampoo-like mixture so it was ready later.

"Alright Griffin, c'mere," Toby said to the creature, who was already situated right there in his lap, and so didn't actually need to come any closer. He picked up the brush while Griffin looked right around at him at the sound of his voice. "Time to brush those feathers."

And so he did, starting tentatively but going for it a little more when she looked around to nudge his hand as if to say 'get on with it pleeeease'. Toby smiled to himself; she certainly seemed to like this part. And it probably felt good, getting her feathers and that brushed out and cleared of any bugs or dirt that was lurking. And from the blissful look on her face, with her eyes half closed, Toby thought that if Griffin were a cat, she'd definitely be purring right about now.
