Instead of the taste of STARMAN BLOOD on her tongue, there was bright, sugary flavor crackling there. Something about it, plus the antidote to her spell, reminded Dot that she wasn't actually a wolf child. She was a girl. And her favorite professor (or one of them) had given her a cookie that made her act like a beast.

She came back to herself with tears running down now smooth cheeks. "I wanted to eat people! Soph, I don't want to eat anyone." It made her feel kind of monstrous to think that she'd been chasing... no, hunting someone just a moment before. Was she kind of monstrous too?

Dot wiped her face hastily. "Gimme some of those candies. No one should have to be a wolf if they don't wanna be a wolf." Except for werewolves, but that was a social justice issue for a different day.
