Cruel game really, but he did have a somewhat twisted sense of humor.
But that did mean that the boy knew where his office was. Right? RIGHT?!
And he was having second thoughts about that shoe comment right now. "I take it back, shoes off," he instructed. He wasn't THAT desperate yet. "You do not possess smelly feet, do you?"
Taking a peek into the suit of armor again, he looked towards the Ravenclaw and shook his head. Did he drop something? No...but that certainly made for a better story now, didn't it? Better than telling a first year about a secret passage way anyway. "Yes....yes I did," he lied. Clearly hanging around Maddox too much these days. Rooney bent to undo the laces of his shoes with utter care for them, tucking them back into the pumps as he slipped them off his feet. Whilst also in a bent position, the first year had a sniff of his feet before straightening to stand and shrugging. "They don't smell bad, Professor." But they did have that smell of 'my feet have been in shoes and socks for a few hours please let them adjust to new air.' Was that smell the smell that Professor Flamsteed was talking about?
His eyes widened and he looked back at the suit of armour once more. "Are you sure? How did you drop it in there? What is it? Is it small?" If he was going to find it, he was going to have to know what it looked like and where it may have fallen to. It all did depend on the angle of the objects fall. "Also... Will I hurt my foot on it?" His foot was now almost nude, you know?
