SPOILER!!: Entry #1 Prompt #1
February 3rd 2087

Talking about names, actually I have two: Korean name and English name. Hwang Seunghyun is my Korean name, in Korean character (or Hangul), my names is written 황승현 while in Chinese-Korean character (or usually it was called Hanja) it's written like this -> 黃昇炫. Hwang is my surname, and it means Gold. Seung (昇) means rise and Hyun (炫) means shine. So practically my name means 'rising shine'. Maybe my parents did name me because of the meaning but actually they said Seunghyun is a nice name for a Korean boy. Just that.

My English name is Jackson, I think because my mother is a fan of Michael Jackson--King of muggle pop music and my brother's is Michael. Since Seunghyun is quite hard to be pronounced by non-Korean, I often being called Jackson nowadays, especially when I moved here. I don't think I have other nickname though, but sometimes my brother calls me 'Jackie dongsaeng' which means 'little brother Jackie' but I hate that.

I was tutored by my mother when I was young. She didn't just tutor me about wizarding stuffs but also some muggle knowledge like basic math, science, English (I'm a Korean and English is not my first language), and history of Korea. She said that knowing the history of my country is necessary. My mom also invited private music teacher to teach me piano and singing. It turned out that I enjoyed music better than study, after a long consideration my parents allowed me to study at Kirin School of Wizardry and Performing Arts.

Of course Kirin was completely different with Hogwarts. First, the school is still considering new--it was established in 2010. Second, Kirin is not only a wizarding school, it's also a performing arts school. We got out wizarding education class in the morning and then continued with the performing arts class after lunch. I took singing, acting and piano class when I was there. Third, at the end of the term, we usually had a performing art festival to show off our talent. The last time I was there, I was on The Three Musketeers musical drama and I was D'Artagnan. I cannot say that Kirin is better than Hogwarts and vice versa because both of the schools are different.

I love playing piano very much. When I was five, I was in somebody's house--I don't really remember exactly whose house was that--and that was the first time I saw a black grand piano. The host didn't mind to see me playing with the keyboard. My parents noticed about that then they got the same huge black grand piano and called a private teacher to teach me playing. Playing piano really cheers me up when I feel down or sad or stressful. In Hogwarts, I usually go to the room of requirement or the Gryffindor common room to play piano.Besides piano, I do love singing too. I can sing everywhere every time and especially when I am in a mood for singing of course.

Both of my parents came from South Korea. My father came from Busan, it's the second largest city in South Korea after Seoul and my mother came from Daegu, the fourth largest city after Seoul, Busan, and Incheon. Since I was born and raised in South Korea, so I have visited those places. Busan and Daegu aren't that crowded like Seoul, the capital city of South Korea and my residence. But both of them are so beautiful.

South Korean people (or mostly Asian, I can say) are very hardworking and concerned about the education. They are also strict and want the children to gain a higher and better education. I think it did affect my personality, a little bit. Maybe I'm not as bright as my parents or my brother but I do want to succeed in my education. I realized about that when I started preparing for my OWLs, I don't wanna fail.

I can say that a life-changing moment that when I was nine years old. After being tutored in piano since I was five, my tutored signed me up for a piano recital. I was a very shy and didn't really enjoy being in front of people and I had to do a recital? Merlin, I was so nervous and unprepared at the time. My tutor believed that I could do it and my family had been very supportive for let me perform at the recital. I practiced very hard every day with my tutor and she had picked two of my favorite songs to be played at the recital: Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and Love Me from Yiruma.

Although I had been practice, I still felt nervous until five minutes before my turn. My mom and my tutor couldn't stop encourage me that I could do it. They said not to mind the audience, as long as I played the song from my heart and enjoyed the playing, that's why my tutor picked my favorite songs. Weirdly enough that once I stepped up and saw the piano, my nervous and stage fright feeling were gone. And I did it, playing it from my heart. Once I finished my first song, the audience gave me standing ovation and that makes me more confident. Since then, I'd never felt stage fright again. Also that make me realized how I love music very much, especially piano. I want to be a concert pianist and more focus on that since it's my passion.

My favorite teacher? Well, it's quite hard since I was just here for a few months. I think every professors in Hogwarts are nice and amazing, comparing to my professors back in my former school. They do have a way to make how students can enjoy their lessons like what Professor Botros did at the ancient runes, he asked us to be in a play about Thor and his hammer and I played as a Loki there. Professor Flamsteed is nice too, a little bit hyperactive and funny I think but he doesn't make astronomy as boring as the way it should be. I also think that Professor Dakest is great too since he has those auror background, he totally experiences in his field in practical way and very nice in person.

For now, I really want to pursue my career in music since it's my passion. I really want to be a musician, maybe a concert pianist like my idol Yiruma. After I graduated Hogwarts, I want to go to music school and study more about music and piano. Maybe go to Julliard school in New York since I heard that it's the best music school ever and I believe I can go there. I'm also considering to go to WADA of course. I want to be a famous singer too so.. let's see. I haven't thought about settling down and having family because, I'm just fifteen years old for Merlin's sake!

And what should I do to aspire those? I practice hard. Lucky that in Gryffindor common room we have a grand piano so I can play there. When I am in a mood to practice without having somebody is watching me, I can go to room of requirement. But of course that I'm not gonna abandon my wizarding lessons behind anymore. I don't wanna be talented in music but fail in lessons. Nope, that's not gonna happen

We don't really have a specific traditions but every year, we celebrate Christmas together or... at least that we used to. This year, I decided to stay at Hogwarts because I wanted to focus on OWLs preparation. On Christmas day, we usually decorate the Christmas tree together. And what makes it's quite different with any other family is, my family always put a traditional clothe or hanbok. It's not really necessary in Korea and we usually wear them for traditional public holiday like lunar new year. But my parents said that we have to wear them because Christmas is also special like new year. My mom usually cooks special cuisine and bakes cake for us and we have a very nice dinner. Also, we provide presents for everyone and exchange it. It's so fun. I really hope that I can go home for Christmas next year.

What makes I'm unique? Well uh... Physically, I can say that I'm quite taller for a fifteen-year-old Asian boy. The last time I measure my height is like... two years ago and I already reached 174 cm at the time and I am still growing. Maybe I should measure it again since I'm growing more since that time. It's funny because I was so short when I was little. My mom said that it could happen because men usually start gaining height when they are in teen age. Besides my height, I have dimples. Some people said that people who have dimples are cute and I am not complimenting myself.

Besides the physical feature, people say I am unique because I have funny accent. Well, I cannot help if sometimes I still speak English with Korean accent, I'm still learning how to eliminate that or... Maybe not. That's what makes me unique, right? Why should I eliminate it then? According to other people, they quite understand with what I'm saying. So, I'm not gonna eliminate my Korean accent and I'm proud of that.

My family own a siberian husky male dog that we adopted him as a puppy when I was ten years old. We call him Goon and I have no idea why he was called Goon. He is a very friendly with us but to strangers he can be a little bit aggressive. I love throwing a ball and then he chases and catches it. He's really a great dog. Besides the dog, I personally own a corn snake and I call him Pororo. Pororo loves eating little mice and chocolate, yeah I know that it's weird. For now, it stays with my brother Micky since Hogwarts isn't allowed to bring snakes as the students pet, too bad.

I hate all chores. I mean, who exactly likes doing chores? Well, my mom does. We don't have a house elf so we have to do the chores all by ourselves. Well, maybe I should list three chores that I don't like doing by myself. First, I don't like cleaning the floor by using sweep. I don't know how can using the sweep make the floor clean because apparently, it's just gonna bring the mess more. Second, I hate cleaning the bathroom. My mom often asked me to clean the floor and the tub and I just don't feel comfortable, especially that I have to use a funny-scented liquid to clean that. And third, I hate washing the dirty dishes, hands down.

What makes my family unique? Uh... This is such a hard question. I think my family is unique because every one of us if different to each other. My father, he's a typical Asian father. He's very strict and wants his children to be successful, especially in academic way. He's the reason why I moved from my former school and be here because he wanted me to get the best education and succeed. He's not really good to show his affection to us but he is a lovable man, I know.

My mother is the opposite of my father, she is very compassionate and warm, and lovable too of course. She always supports what she thought is the best for her sons, that's why she let me take the piano course and go to Kirin at the first time. I have one brother, Micky, who is he's ten years older than me. He is mischievous and prankster. But he's a fun brother. Okay, maybe they're not really unique but I love them because they are my family.

There are so many people whom had such a great influence for me. One of them is my Lee Sora, she's a famous concert pianist in South Korea. I'm saying she has a great influence for me not because she's famous, but it's because she used to be my piano tutor when I was young. She is very nice and humble, and her piano skill is very amazing. Sora said that she fought very hard to be a pianist since she came from a poor family and her mother didn't really support her. I still keep in touch by sending her owl at least once a month and surprisingly she still has time to reply that though her schedule is a bit tight. That's also why I see her as a big influence because she's still humble.

April 20 2087

When I was in my former school, my favorite spot was the music room. Usually I when there after the class just to play piano and sing. The music teacher wouldn't mind if I spend my after class time there, as long as I keep it clean. Generally my favorite place is anywhere as long as I can play piano and sing. Either it's at my home or my former school or the Gryffindor common room... Just, anywhere with piano. Playing piano makes me feel happy and calm and that's the thing I enjoy the most.

But I also love spending some time at the outdoor, especially at the pathways of Hogwarts ground. That place is just lovely and peaceful. When I am too sick and tired of studying for OWLs, I just walked past the pathways to relax my mind. So in conclusion, I love the places where I can make my mind calm and relaxed.

SPOILER!!: Entry #15 Prompt 27
May 1 2087.

Back in my third and fourth year, I focused too much in my performing arts class especially that I was picked as a main role in a musical drama. My wizarding lessons' grade weren't that good and my father was very disappointed about that. He said that I abandoned my lessons just for my performance in that musical drama. At the end of my fourth year, he gave me an ultimatum: I should get good grades in OWLs or he's not gonna let me do everything l enjoyed: music, piano, singing and acting. I was very mad at him because he couldn't force me. I believed that I'd done my best at the time but still the grades weren't satisfying enough. After a long discussion and debate, he moved me to Hogwarts so I can focus on study more.

I'd never lived thousand miles away without my parents. For the first time I arrived at London, I'm afraid that I wouldn't fit in since my English wasn't that good. But then my brother, Micky said that I can survive my years in Hogwarts. I was glad that he believed in me and support me very much. As for now, I enjoy being in Hogwarts. Surprisingly I am sorted into Gryffindor and people there were welcomed me very much. I meet some good friends like Leah Abbot, Yoongi Hyland, Adi, Henric, Zhenya, and others. The Professors here are nice too and supportive. Despite of the weird things that lately happened around, I really didn't expect that my first year in Hogwarts was good.
