"You drive a hard bargain, professor," she tried to sound exasperated like she was totally overwhelmed with this difficult decision she was facing, but her huge, goofy grin gave away her true feelings on the matter, "but I suppose that's fair. We have a deal."
If this had been a prank and payback for last term's planetarium debacle, it was apparent that she wouldn't have even suspected a thing based upon the way she eagerly offered him her hand, her eyes shiny and bright as she watched the bottle of nail polish in his hands.
