Toby was glad he'd be getting to see Griffin again. Really, this whole thing didn't even count as homework, as he probably would have been down here anyway to come see her and feed her and basically pay a lot of attention to her. Only problem was that he constantly in such a high state of anxiety, especially when it came to the creatures. Toby had actually made sure that Bludger AND Staco AND Lala all stayed at home, now, after hearing about all the missing pets from people on the common room and all that trouble with the Hippogriffs, and Pebbles, of course. He'd asked if Griffin could go there too, but that had been a resolute 'no' from all involved. Completely unfair, if you asked him.

But all it meant was that he'd come by check on her every day, and he could cope with that. Honestly, Toby would sleep out here with the creatures if he'd been allowed to (he wasn't). He entered the creature housing now, heading straight to the stable that held Griffin.

"Hey, little Griff!" he Hufflepuff grinned, able to forget all his anxieties and worries and sads for the moment, because his happy baby Griffin seemed thrilled to see him, and the feeling was mutual. Toby joined her in the stable and went straight down to his knees, and she all but tackled him in greeting. He lifted her up, cradling her like a baby, so she looked up at him, and allowed her to stick her beak in his ear. Just for a second though, because giggling happened. "Gah! Griffin, noohohohohooooo," Toby laughed, angling his head away from her before whispering, "I told you. I'm super ticklish."

He wasn't mad, though. Of course not. Griffin was adorable, and Toby couldn't help but grin at the way she squawked cheerfully up at him. Creatures made everything better, even when you were spiralling into emotional turmoil and things looked less hopeful by the day, y'know? Baby creatures especially, 'cause they were super cute.
