He'd obviously observed enough to have picked it up. Rooney tried not to look confused or upset that he was a show monkey, and just pretended that he was on stage and this was a paying audience. There to support him. Not to mock him.
Little kid had noticed him.

Not that Dalton really had any right to be referring to the boy as 'little kid'. For all he knew, for all the attention he paid, this boy was older than him. But still, unless they were obviously a lot older than he was, he was going to continue to think of them in such a way.
And little kid could deal with it. Raising an eyebrow slightly as he locked eyes with the boy, Dalton almost chuckled - almost. A smirk did rise to his lips, though, as he considered the offer.
