Zhenya felt her face flush when Professor Sabel was addressing her suggestion. For a moment there, she thought he was going to penalise her for her suggestion. She didn't see anything wrong with it, and felt herself shrinking down a tiny bit. Although she saw what he meant by keeping them subdued, rather than... you know. It was hard to imagine the werewolves as humans and imagine treating a werewolf who hadn't had wolfsbane potion, who was looking to attack someone, as a human. It seemed a balance of ethics. Animal rights and human rights. To treat an animalistic werewolf as a human. It was tough, and Zhenya was struggling with the concept. She had always seen werewolves who hadn't ingested wolfsbane as a threat to the community during the full moon, and hadn't actually been able to join the human and werewolf together. A werewolf who HAD ingested the potion, though, it was easy to remember they were human. She also understood what he meant; even if the wolfsbane wolf she had been talking about had successfully lured the werewolf into a safe enclosure, the non-wolfsbane werewolf might be of great risk to the other. She hadn't thought about that. She put her index finger into her mouth and started chewing on her nail, suddenly quite deep in thought about the ramifications of trapping a wolfsbane and a non-wolfsbane werewolf into an enclosure. All she was picturing were two werewolves running around happily together, in an enclosure which suited them during their transformations. Keeping them away from society. Big big big ramifications. Where to make a balance between containing and subduing. You could subdue without a cage but could you subdue with a cage?
And then other responses were being given and she suddenly snapped out of her deep thoughts, trying to catch up with all the other suggestions and answers. She could think about these later, with or without discussions from Professor Dakest and/or Professor Thompson. Though the thought was deeply embedded into her immediate thoughts. Later, brain.
But the thoughts would have to wait, because it was time to get up and move on to the practical aspect of the defensive section. Zhenya put her wand into the pocket of her robes, and put her potion away, making sure it was safe from sneezy Professors and their crumbly spray, and stood behind her desk. But it wasn't a desk anymore; it was a wooden dummy. The dummy had moving arms and legs. Eh!?
Zhenya needed to practice this new spell before she tried to cast it. "Manus invisibilis," she said, just as Professor Dakest had. "Manus invisibilis, Manus invisibilis, Manus invisibilis," she said a few more times to get a feel for it. Once she felt comfortable with that, she pulled her wand out. As she was a bit slow with non-verbal spells, she wasn't too worried about accidentally casting it non-verbally. But just to be safe, she turned around where there was nothing in her path, and drew her wand out. She twisted it to her right, then thrust it forward. She did it a few more times before turning back to her dummy. "Manus invisibilis," she said, twisting her wand to the right, and thrusting it. She had the left hand in her mind as she said the spell, and aiming the wand towards that limb, which immediately stopped moving.
