Well, really he didn't have a good comparison. So he left the rest to grumbling.
Grumbling as Lex decided to sever each vine about her, causing those portions not in the light to coil and tighten and twist. Like those around his shoes. Thanks for that ----- HOLD THE OWL. Rhydian blinked at up at Lex from where he was squatted.
"You're kidding right?' His brand new shoes were going to get crushed and wrecked by vine slime because she had no clue what they were dealing with. "Devil's snare?" Maybe she just had a hard time with visual comprehension. "Twists tighter as you tug, devil's snare?" Any of this ringing a bell.
His frown deepened, and then a thought struck him. And a grin. "Only cure is a good dousing of fire......."
She liked fire didn't she? Blowing things up? Setting things aflame? Blasting curses and stinging hexes and all that good stuff? As long as she didn't scorch his lovely loafers......
Hazel eyes shot to Rhydian with immediacy. Close Hogwarts?
"On what grounds? They've had worse, way worse. The school's perfectly safe--or well it's not but they know what they're doing over there. No one ever dies 'cept idiots and overly Gryffindor people." That was Firth. Alexa was a Gryffindor, die hard and all that loyal chivalry but she'd be damned if she threw herself in the way of a Dementor for
Ivy Knox when it was a proven fact that Mr. Vinteren would never let anything happen to her.
Nope, she'd have high tailed it OUT of there; let him handle it like she knew he could.
"Met all my favourite people there and all my favourite people are still alive." Which was justification enough in her book.
Also, did he notice the vines creeping up his leg? She did. Now that they were off hers, they found a closer target and it happened to be him. Shame that, even more a shame, cutting seemed to deter it very little. Wait did he just say Devil's Snare? She'd been forced to read about that for her NEWTs!
"Well why didn't you say so in the first place?" Lex straightened with the sort of grin that ought not be trusted. The kind that promised a level of recklessness and a thirst for destruction. As it turned out, she WOULD get to torch this thing afterall.
Her caution extended only far enough to see to it she didn't step in the way of the vines before Alexa lit up the aisle they stood in--literally. Cast after cast soon had flames rising high while seeing to it that the vines of the plant either withered or withdrew in it's wake. Even the ones attached to Rhydian had sought shelter elsewhere until they were left alone in a burning walkway, and her more fascinated with the flames than the idea of putting out her handiwork. Brilliant, wasn't it?
