Art supplies spread out around her, Lux was ready to continue working on her illuminated manuscript. She could have chosen to work up in her dormitory where there was no risk of itchy ankles, but the fireplace was a nice bonus during the cold of winter.
Turning to the next blank sheet if paper, Lux drew a pretty gold border. This one consisted of lilies because they were her favourite flower. Maybe she wasn't the best at drawing, but she thought that they looked amazing and she was really happy with her artwork. The people of the middle ages were really on to something with their use of silver and gold, because it really did look fantastic.
For the next page she decided that it would consist of a picture and nothing else. There were loads of pages that were available for writing so space wouldn't be an issue. Slowly and carefully she set about drawing herself, her parents, her sister, and her brother. That was her family, and they were all standing together and smiling. Lux loved her family. She made sure to add grass at their feet and of course there was a yellow sun in the sky. Her dress was blue - as if it would be any other colour.
On the next page she drew a red dragon on the top left corner...okay it took up half of the page. Lux had no regrets because dragons were awesome and she thought her manuscript should have one.
In the center of the next page she drew a big cauldron that had liquid bubbling away over a flame. Potions equipment was drawn all around it. Things like flasks, pestles and mortars... anything involving potions because this was a page dedicated to it. Potions were amazing and she loved them.
Now she felt like making some more borders, so on the next page Lux used the gold to draw books. There were books everywhere and they were the ones that she really loved like 'The Hobbit'. Reading was wonderful and there were so many awesome books out there.
A few more details later, and Lux was DONE her illustrations. Wow, they were all so pretty but her favourite was the picture of her and Bay. |
