Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ SPOILER!!: ....yeaaaaahhhh Quote:

It was just an endless wall of green that stretched in all directions.
His statement got an intrigued raise of her brow. "Never? Not even from a far?" She didn't know if she thought he was lucky or not. Thing is, as terrifying as they were, they were also fascinating and Lex liked knowing she'd done something at least once. Problem with the dementors that term was that their appearance wasn't a one time deal, they were everywhere. "They took over Hogwarts during my Third Year. It was alright til they got into our Common Rooms and eventually tried making a feast out of us." And she meant that. The day they crashed the Quidditch match, nearly outing Odessa and Kinsley was amusing, the way they clung to each other and Theo was bawling, priceless....then they got inside the Gryffindor Common Room and the roles changed and SHE was the one near tears but naturally feeling better knowing that she didn't cry when Theodore Kinsley most certainly HAD. Ahem. "Hauling's almost second nature now when it comes to those things." Experience did that. "And I'm guessing we're having the time of our lives then." If being lost was half the fun and Lex didn't even know where to start looking for the exit, it was safe to say they MUST have been having a blast. Funny how it seemed to be getting darker though. Not cold, just dark which automatically ruled out a second round with the Dementor but it didn't change the fact that something was up.
Lex continued on, figuring if it wasn't a dementor it was perfectly manageable even in the now very very dim ligh-- "Rhydian..." Her eyes widened considerably as she felt something at her bare feet. The ground here was damp. She didn't mind it at first because it felt nice but now there was something wrapping around her ankle and making it's way up. "I think...I think there's something at my feet." Seconds later the same coiling motion worked at her other ankle and up. What the kneazle?? "Never." He shook his head once. "Never had any reason or opportunity to." Place and time and all that jazz. Which meant bonus points for her; he'd never been to Azkaban.
But Hogwarts? As in the school Hogwarts? The infamous school? She got a look for that one. "You're telling me....you had dementors in your common room." Yes, that was what she had just said, but he felt the need to repeat it just to make sure he'd pieced together his hearing right. And if he hadn't seen how she had just reacted to the dementor, he would have said her pants were on fire too. "The schools new security or something?" Place had a knack for trouble, as he'd heard it. Dementors might be a solution, were they not so well...dark and dangerous. Funny how that worked. Except, not really.
A cheeky grin replaced his befuddlement and he was about to agree to her latest statement when she went and said that. In that spine-tingling tone. It was the closest thing to fear he'd ever heard from his partner, besides the silent expression of running blindly.
Taking a step back, because it was the logical response to when someone said they'd just stepped somewhere they shouldn't have, Rhydian tightened his grip on her hand and gave his wand a good, hard flick. Light bloomed on the tip of his wand, and the brief movement in the darkness halted. With it, his stomach dropped somewhere within his nice shoes, which, were unfortunately surrounded by the vines. "Well, this I've seen before." Holding the light closer to her legs, Rhydian couldn't help but watch in fascination as the vine tightened and froze, like muscle coiling to stillness. Squatting (because it was such a brilliant idea in a nest of devil's snare vines), Rhydian moved his face closer to her ankles, being careful to keep the light bright and focused where his gaze was. "You think they've got brains somewhere? Or is it all chemical reaction driven?"
