Ugh. As Dakest took over the class, Sophie worked on cleaning up her workstation, feeling more and more small as time crept along. Once her area was clean, she switched back over to note-taking, jotting down some of the tell-tale signs of a werewolf versus a regular wolf. Good stuff to know, but then he posed a question to the class and Sophie avoided eye contact.
It wasn't that she didn't know or have some hunches on how to retain a werewolf, because she did. A couple defensive spells they reviewed last term in Truebridge's class came to mind, as did the Animalis Fidelis charm she used last term in her OWL exam for Care of Magical Creatures. But none of those things seemed good enough to mention. What if he told her they wouldn't work or be effective? What if he made her feel even smaller by shooting down her suggestions?
No. She was going to stay silent and pretend to be very engrossed in her note-taking, thank you, and go back to contemplating her forthcoming death by Flammy.
