That was a LOT of information, but it was ALL going onto a piece of parchment that Zhenya had set up in front of her. Even though she knew some of it already, and her classmates had said it all, it was still good hearing Professor Culloden speaking about all of it, clumped together, and it just made sense.
The ingredients appeared on the board, and Zhenya wrote them down onto a separate piece of parchment. If she didn't get this potion right this time, by Merlin, she was going to practice it.
Right - Zhenya wanted to get it right. She would aim to get it right. She went to wash her hands thoroughly before they started, what with the cookie particles and all, surely they contained sugar. Going back to her desk, she reached for her wand and cleaned her cauldron.
"Scourgify," she said, swirling the S shaped charm into the cauldron. Well, best do that again.
"Scourgify." Okay, clean cauldron. Now the next two steps they could do pretty simultaneously. She had to hear a class of milk for three minutes on a medium flame. There was the glass of milk, which she reached for, and she lit her flame.
"Incendio," she said, twirling her wand to shape out a flame. There was a medium flame and Zhenya started her timer as she placed the milk near the flame to hear it. At the same time, she could fully fill her cauldron with water.
"Aguamenti," she said, pointing her wand into the cauldron. She stopped when the cauldron was full, by which time there was still ages to wait for the milk to hear up.
After waiting, staring at her timer so that she could remove the flame as SOON as it hit 3 minutes, she quickly removed it and lowered the flame for the cauldron, which she moved on top of the flame. All set for the next steps, but knowing this was going to be a very difficult potion, she was starting to feel a bit flustered.
