He leaned back and sighed. "I'm not saying you are a dark witch, but..." What if Sabel was slowly poisoning her? ...Why in the world was he so distrusting of Dakest? Had he ever given Culloden a reason to think he was anything less than good? The new professor was a perfect gentleman in her eyes, so she didn't get it.
How could she prove to him that there was nothing to worry about?
"But...?" She didn't really need him to finish - she knew where he was going with this, and she rubbed her forehead in frustration. "Why don't we go see him? We'll talk this out. If he doesn't hex you on the spot for being suspicious of him, we'll know he's probably a pretty good guy, right?" She was grinning, her tone light and teasing. "We'll go in with all our defenses up. It'll be fine." And Dakest would probably appreciate that she was trying to help others see that he was truly good, too, right?
