Sophie thought that when OWLs were over, things would be easier. When she got the badge, she was even more certain that things were looking up and school would be even more fun than it had been before. She had to prepare for NEWTs already, yes, but she'd dropped two subjects, so there was less ground to cover and she could breathe a bit better. And even though turning seventeen had been a great highlight of her life, and she loved just knowing she could use magic outside of school now... well...

Life was throwing unexpected curveballs at her. Things could never be simple, could they?

There was just a whole lot to take in and process and, as much as she gained energy from being around others, sometimes... she just needed a little break. Like today, she was very keen on spending some time in solitude, and the best place she could think of to unwind and just think was this room.

Flamsteed was the best for having this little best kept secret, did he know? It might have been her favorite place in the whole school. Well... maybe top three.

Sophie sat down on the piano bench and... just sat there for a moment. She hadn't brought any sheet music with her today, as she was quite content to improvise and play around and just see what came to her, so she just remained still for a few long minutes while her mind moved at a million miles an hour. Tobes and Zander were primary topics, as were Tobes' family and his health and his attitude in general and how Zander had matured and grown over just the last few months...

Her thoughts stayed with the boys while her fingers began to lightly dance across the piano keys, subconsciously playing the song she played for Tobes in the same room last term, a thoughtful but mildly pleasant expression upon her face.

Totally zoned out.
