Well, he didn't know just yet. Puck was nervous that the animals had escaped…been trampled…gobbled up by some beast. Which yeah, that was explainable so when Professor Thompson opened the door she just gulped.
“Professor Thompson, it might be nothing but knowing Sod’s law is? And well, especially with Hogwarts” she was speaking rather quickly and had to remind herself to breath, take her time. Even if this was dire, it had to be understandably stated. “I went into the creatures housing to check on the faeries we caught and befriended a few years back? And well they are gone. All of them…” she stood there twisting her fingers around against the palm of her hand nervously as she spoke.
“Also…the Augurey’s are missing too?” She added almost as an after thought because, well, the Faeries were what she had gone to visit and well, feed. "Is it possible that we have some hungry creatures sneaking in from the forest and eating pets? Because I'd happily grab them some fish if that were the case," or her cat. But she wouldn't say that.
