Sure, he remembered when she was Victoria Maroon and not Culloden. It wasn't all that long ago and he had been in Quidditch in one way or another a long time. He certainly didn't know the whole story but he figured it was an interesting one the way she talked. "I've been in this league a long time. Believe me, I've seen worse." Mariel and Victoria were rather efficient from what he could see though he only paid more attention to that end since he became a manager. It hadn't concerned him much as a player, He didn't have much to say about the election thing though and vaguely shrugged. He didn't follow politics and actually forgot to vote when it came time.
Oh, good, the food was here. Kieran was hungrier than he thought and that prime rib really looked good. As he started to dig in, he looked up at Rebecca as she spoke and he chuckled a little. "Whatever you need to do. Contracts are rewritten all the time for different reasons." Players didn't have to sign them if they didn't want to, especially if there was another team willing to offer something better. And if she tightened her reigns too much on her team, she might find herself in that position. She already had quite the reputation in the league.
Was that the hint of a compliment? Taking a bite of his meal, he gave her a small smile and nodded. "Well, thanks, I appreciate that. I think everyone will see that with these changes I've made for the upcoming season." He was confident that they'd do better this year or he would be taking even more drastic measures. The Kestrels were not going to be at the bottom any longer. His smile grew as she agreed to the terms. "Fantastic. A pleasure doing business with you." That was actually a little easier than he thought. He raised his glass of wine to her before taking a sip. The man couldn’t have done anything worse than say those words. She glared at him a moment and then smirked, “Only because my husband was an idiot in his youth and married her, but I certainly showed him the light when he met me.” Her tight smirk was back on her face. She knew some would see it as horrible, him cheating and leaving her for Rebecca, but Rebecca saw it as an upgrade, she was better than any other woman. He just finally saw the light. She took a sip of her wine not to let it bother her that she had to deal with that woman still. “Well I haven’t and I’ve seen the best. Australia would never deal with this kind of stuff. They are so much more organized. “ It’s why they were clearly the better league.
She knew what she was doing and her records proved it for years. So if he wanted to laugh and blow her advice and threats off, that was his problem. Though she’d like to make it listen to her in some ways. “So you and Tupper, is it serious?” Not that she cared about Tupper’s relationships, but she couldn’t help but ask about his view on it. Taking a bite of her food she frowned, it wasn’t the best, but she’d have to live with it. Nothing at these muggle places were ever that good, though she had higher expectations for this place. It was good the last time she was here. “Only time will tell, but never worry when you don’t do as well as me. It’s never truly anyone’s fault I’m just hat good as a manager.” She had a gift that she was very confident about. She knew how to manage a team and the Catapults would be on top this year. “It was rather easy, I wouldn’t mind doing more business with you in the future.” She gave a grin as she took another bite of food.
