It was mainly the age difference that set him on a different side than them, which was normal, but it was regrettable nonetheless.

"Thank you." Botros said when Dakest came back with his order, and Ab wasted no time in tasting the hot, bitter sweet taste of his tea. "Sure. We haven't been able to chat outside of staff meetings." The old man's face remained peacefully smiling. He noticed how the Auror (still?) surveyed the area before his shoulders slouched slightly in relaxation, he supposed. "Things must be less intense here than at the ministry." He commented lightly, taking a bite of his pastry.

As for Sherman. "Yeah. He's the minister of magic now, so I'm sure whatever excuse he has is legitimate." Botros was fully supporting his friend's deep involvement in the ministry, chopping off their quality time was definitely worth it.

It was, regrettably true. And not just for Professor Botros. There really hadn't been much time, or opportunity, outside of their staff meetings to get to know some of the other Professors. Perhaps something that he needed to try and rectify. Didn't do well to be on staff without really knowing his colleagues. Hogwarts or anywhere else.

Wrapping his hands around his mug, Sabel nodded slightly. "A different type of intense, I think." Kids versus dark wizards. He was having some difficulty deciding which was easier to deal with. So far, the kids were winning out, but he was still fairly new to the position.

He was about to inquire what it was that brought the older Professor to Hogwarts, what type of history coated his years, when he gave explanation to his friend's absence. Sabel nearly choked, and barely managed to get the words out and around his surprise. "Friends in high places."

It was a brief, but heartfelt wonder if he should have even joined the man's company. Politics were not his thing. Politicians were less. He hoped politics were not a tea-type discussion for Botros.

"He seems...to be doing a decent job thus far." Had to say something commendable, right? Not that it was much. That was about his extent of politics. Though it did beg the question, as to why Botros was here and not there. Didn't friends of politicians usually end up as politicians themselves?
