Ever since a certain first-year had broken into her office in her first term as Headmistress, Anastasia had exercised the utmost caution in setting up the wards around her territory. She happened to be in the back, feeding and brushing Gingersnapple, when she was alerted to an intruder breaking these wards.

People were not usually observant enough to notice the mosquito buzzing through the corridors and even if they had would have thought much of its presence. This particular mosquito was a bit peculiar as it carried something skewered with its snout.

Zigzagging into the empty office, the Daily Prophet Editor-in-Chief reverted back to his human form just in time for the some enchantments on some his belongings to wear off. Taking a few moments to look around the office for anything else that may be useful to the Master, his vacant eyes fell on the article hanging on the wall and an eerie glimmer glazed his eyes. Now he knew just the right buttons to push for the upcoming article.

Reaching for the documents and a handbook that had fallen to the floor during his transformation, he disposed of them in one of the drawers of the Headmistress' desk and gave the room one last look over before transforming once again to head to his next location with the remaining documents skewered to his snout.
Naturally she rushed out from the back, wand out, to investigate the potential threat. Only... no one was there. The windows were closed and locked (obviously, because it was December), the door to the staircase was still closed and locked, the fireplace appeared empty and undisturbed, and none of the secret passages alternate exits headmaster portraits were hanging askew either. Actually, most of them were either sleeping or empty.

"Who's there?" she called out anyway, casting a nonverbal spell that should reveal any human or animal presence. It revealed nothing. Hmmm. The redhead still proceeded with caution to her desk to look for anything out of the ordinary or out of place, and honestly... didn't see anything, at first. So it was time to start opening and closing drawers then, and moving things around to see if it was just her paranoia getting the best of her, or if there had in fact been an intruder in here just a moment ago...

Wards didn't just lie. Her spellwork was impeccable! She just couldn't shake the feeling that someone had just been in here, uninvited.
