As she took a sip of her own drink she grinned. ”You always did love helping out aspiring potioneers.” Throwback a decade and that had been her after all. ”You have such a love for it, I doubt any of your students wouldn’t be addicted instantly.” She smiled at the man, wondering how her love of potions would have changed if HE had specifically been her Professor at Hogwarts as well as a mentor-figure while she was at University. ”You always say that your students are smart,” she told him with a charmingly cheeky GRRRRRRIN. ”How is Victoria doing?” Hazel asked as she smiled, her fingers playing with the glass that she was now holding in her hands. And baby Helena! She couldn’t help the smile that spread over her own face at the mention of meeting her. ”Well, if you can… I would love to meet her - and I promise we can meet outside of a pub.” She gave her fellow Scot a playful wink. Maybe a café or a play barn? Did they have ones in Hogsmede like they did where she had grown up? Hmmm. Worth looking into… Though, her cousin did have the playbarn off Diagon Alley… though that was possibly too far out of the way for Cosgrach? ”A lot has happened lately, I guess--” Well, since the last time they had met up to catch up anyway. ”I finished my Masters Dissertation and it was accepted. I just graduated with the highest grade, I’ve ever really had in my academic career and I was selected for the Faculty award for the year.” She grinned wide, really that was only part of her news BUT it was the most related to the man in front of her.
She would get to the rest of her news in a minute - she wanted to bask in the pride she hoped she was away to be shown by Cosgrach. "Cheers indeed," Cosgrach said as he raised his glass to hers and took a sip, "and thanks." Now that his throat had someting liquid, they could discuss things. He smiled. Yes, he did... like how he answered her first letter, huh? "Well, they are" he said with a grin of his own. He was lucky in that. Hehehe. "Some of them don't like it, and I get it's not for everyone." If they made mistakes every lesson, they might as well not show up at all. But the majority was very clever, so he'd take that. "Vic is fine," he said, "trying to balance work and home now." Like him. She'd raised 3 kids before, though, so she knew it better than him.
He laughed at what she said next. And look at her! She was smiling at the thought of meeting Helena! He felt... different, but very, very good. Who could have thought a tiny creature could make him feel like this? "I certainly can," he said. They just had to decide on a place, and he had to trust himself that he had grown up enough to handle a baby outside and alone.
SAY WHAT!?
He GASPED and GAPED at her with BIG eyes. "Congratulations! Oh, Hazel, this is great!" He was grinning from ear to ear, his eyes were sparkling and he was VERY proud. "Cheers to that!" |
