"Welcome to Hogwarts," he said, nodding at the admittedly odd looking man who was going to be their instructor. Perhaps he would not write home about this experience... no need to give father any more reason to dislike the school...

Slipping into a seat, Thornton folding his hands neatly on the desk and waited for others to arrive.

Apollo almost jumped up in excitement when the first BRILLIANTLY young face appeared. “Oh! Thank you!” he smiled and waved cheerfully. SOme of his beard hair slipped into his mouth during the exchange, and he had to spit it out--PFFT HBRFRGFYGT. No matter. Everything was cool, here, youth!

“Don’t forget the name tag!” he reminded gently, gesturing to the one on the boy’s desk.

Giving a few snaps she headed to find a seat in the back. She'd let the students sit close to everything. She wondered if Nessa would maybe come as well, she should have stopped by and asked, but her mind hadn't been in the right place as of late. No, after her little date with Leo she had many things to think about.

AN ADULT!!!!!

Apollo smiled warmly and shook her hand back. “Cassie. Nice to meet you! You’re a professor here, I take it? What do you teach? How--” but Apollo had to stop himself becaaaaause he wasn’t here to socialize. He was here to TEACH. “You don’t have to sit in the back if you don’t want to!” Really. The woman was kind of short!

Was snapping a Hogwarts requirement? Apollo began snapping back at her. Oh, this was fun. Was this a game? Apollo wanted to play.

SPOILER!!: Yoongi

No forest…no weird planets… so far…so good.

He did not have his wand held high but he did hold it beside him as constant vigilance as the professors would say. As he walked further he noticed three tables, his eyes scanned what was on them before he saw the blackboard and read what was written on it.

“Your name is Apollo?” he asked as he turned his gaze to the man. “That is….SO cool!” no , truly! But now Yoongi wondered why HE wasn’t named after a greek god, he had the body! not “Anyways, can’t wait to see what this class is about” he grinned and turned to find a table.

As he did so, he saw the Divination Professor sitting in the back of the class and he nodded to her in greeting but did not sit near her. The woman transformed her classroom in a cemetery. TOO CREEPY!

As he placed down his bag and took out his ink bottle and quill, he wrote his name down on the little name tag.

Apollo greeted the next student to come in with a wave and a smile as well. “Well….it’s not my real name. But I prefer to be called Apollo. My real name is…...dull.” And not nearly as fun as APOLLO.

“....How do you pronounce that?” he asked the boy…..because Apollo would probably butcher that a million times over the small course of this seminar.

Entering the room, Lux looked around curiously. There were a lot of mugs and rubber balls; she was curious to see what they were going to be used for! "Hello, sir. Welcome to Hogwarts!" Smile. The whole apple thing strongly reminded her of Professor Quigley. Maybe they could bond over apples. After taking note of the different bins, she went to find a seat, waving at Professor Cassie as she passed. "Hello, Professor."

Her information was recorded on her name tag:

Maybe her House and Year hadn't been asked for, but Lux figured it didn't hurt. She was used to filling out name tags this way because of lessons.

Another welcome! Apollo was so impressed with the politeness at this school thus far. He smiiiiiled so much when he read her name! “Lux! As a classicist, I have to point out--did you know your name means ‘light’ in Latin?” he assumed someone might have told her by now but..that was so cool! He swoooooped in and patted her heads like he would have his granddaughter, meandering over to the next student...

Best not to think too far into it, Adrienne figured, as she had no doubt there was some far-fetched link with what they were studying that would be called an 'activity'. Ugh.

Still, she wasn't about to dismiss this lecture as pointless until after it had actually started. She headed to the front of the makeshift classroom. At the weird, sketchy teacher, she directed a, "Your seminar had better be worth walking down all of those stairs," - only with a grudging smile, so he wouldn't take it too poorly - and then sat down on her own, since nobody she tolerated was here yet.

Noticing the presence of the nametag, she pulled a quill from the bag that she'd tossed thoughtlessly onto the floor near her desk and scrawled a single word. Adrienne. That would be enough to identify her, right? She stuck the nametag upside-down on the front of her robes and then got to absently scanning the room, waiting for something to happen or someone actually interesting to arrive.

This one was very feisty, wasn’t she? Apollo just chuckled. “Well. I think if it wasn’t worth it, you wouldn’t BE here, now would you….Adrienne!” he had to tilt his head to read her upside down nametage. His glassed sliiiiiid right off his nose and onto the ground--

“Oh--gosh--” he quickly stooped down to pick them up and then SMILED like nothing happened……….

Ahem.

Though this was about theory. But theories aren't always wrong.

He grabbed a nametag and wrote down his name.

Sticking it to his chest he began to notice how odd this room really was. But it was so interesting. The items and the subject. He had always had a love for the old things. They were his favorite in his own home growing up. But....Apollo? The man seemed like some kind of Vagrant. Not the kind of man who would impart any knowledge.

But Mr. Grimm took a seat, wondering if anyone he knew would show up.

The next kid waltzed right in, and Apollo smiled and waved. He was eyeing all of the names, trying to quickly keep a mental note so he didn’t have to keep reading nametags. It would drive him nuts! Luckily, he had a knack for remembering faces and the names they belonged to. He also should have specified that nicknames were completely okay in here...hmph.

“Nemo! Nemo...after Captain Nemo? Or….Latin reference?” He thought the boy had an interesting name on the whole….GRIMM. NEMO. Wow. Cool.

ANOTHER STUDENT!

So when she heard about this seminar, there was NO WAY she would miss it. No way on Gaea….haha..get it? Gaea? No? Okay.

"Hi! I'm Marigold and I'm like…sUPER DUPER excited for today!" she said, a bit breathless with excitement, as soon as she walked into the door. She smiled really big at the teacher dude, then found a seat and wrote on her nametag.

She still remembered the goddesses she liked. Eos and Hestia were her ULTIMATE FAVES.

AND she was in good spirits! “ME TOO! HIGH FIVE--” he held up his hand for her to smack with hers. HE LIKED ENTHUSIASM.

It’s lovely to meet you, Marigold--” he bowed at her, dramatically….and his glasses slipped to the floor again. MERLIN. DID HE NEED TO GLUE THEM TO HIS FACE? “Is that a Dawn reference?” he asked her curiously. Because he didn’t think the second word was Latin….did it mean amateur? Or something? Hmph.

"Hello Sir," she greeted warmly when she spotted Apollo at the front of the room, everyone else she knew getting a small wave in greeting as well. Quickly finding herself an empty seat she sat down and set her page at her feet only removing her quill when she when she saw the nametag.

Setting her quill down she then stuck the nametag to the front of her robes. There she was all ready to see what this was all about.

What a female dominated environment! Apollo didn’t mind. “Oh, no sir needed--” he waved his hand casually. They would get to all of that, though. “Hady, nice to meet you.” She got a wide grin from the bespectacled man.

SPOILER!!: Natalia

The Lioness was still young enough to skip. Taking this opportunity while she still could, the fourth year skipped (with no shame) down to the Great Hall and into the chamber where the seminar would be held. Upon entering the room, she noticed the seminar speaker sitting in the front. Interesting fashion...

Uncertain whether to greet the unfamiliar face, Natalia gave a slight smile before taking a seat near the back of the room. Strangers made her a bit uncomfortable at times. Noticing an empty name tag yearning to be filled out, Natalia grabbed out her quill and wrote her name.

GOSSSHHH they just kept pouring in, and Apollo was so happy! He would have taught with just ONE student if only one had shown up, but there were SO many little faces! SO MANY. He wanted to hug them all in appreciation. That was probably weird and slightly illegal. So he just waved happily at this one….Natalia.

“Natalia!” she got a salute from him. “Lovely to meet you!”

Stories of families fighting --everyone in the stories were related somehow-- and stories with moral implications. It was like watching the world's biggest and oldest cage match.

But this, this was.... interesting. A guy named Apollo. Not anything TOO weird, as the Ravenclaw always regarded her own Ophelia as a weird name, but it was a bit too on-the-nose for her liking. A guy named Apollo teaching Mythology? How fitting.

Her name was supposed to come after a person from Shakespeare who was apparently beautiful and innocent. SCOFF. She could see beautiful, possibly, but innocent? You were talking to a professional prank player here. She was the least innocent out of the entire family. Hah. Great name giving, MOM.

Anyway, taking the small slip of paper, the third year wrote down all of her information.

Ophelia Clarke

Ravenclaw

Third year

and then waited for the seminar with the aptly named person to start.

Apollo thought this one looked cautious..or...unsure of something. No matter! He HOPED she was unsure! HE HOPED she questioned everything and ASKED ALL THE QUESTIONS. It was good to keep the man on his toes.

“Ohelia! GET THEE TO A NUNNERY!” he shouted the Shakespeare quote at her. Maybe it was too loud. Also, what if the girl didn’t even KNOW what he was talking about? THen he would look crazy. CraziER. “Ah-erm--Shakespeare, dear--” he cleared his throat and quickly moved back to the front of the room to pick up one of his many apples.

Besides, Merlin knew why he was here in the first place

It didn't stop him from heading into the room and casting a very confused look at the items on each of the desks towards the front of the class. Kinda random, don'cha think? And what was worse was that they had desks of their own to sit down on. MAN! Was this gonna require a lot of writing? Studying? Because Grayson wasn't down for that. Make this interesting please, new man.

"Hey," he said, giving the guy a nod of acknowledgement before heading over towards a random desk and taking a seat. Nametags? Sure. A quill was taken out and the boy started scribbling in his details.

There. Done. Grayson sat back in his seat as he waited for the seminar to start. Mythology, eh? Hmmm.

A GRUMPY FAAAAACE. Apollo waved at this one even though he looked like he had eaten chalk for breakfast or something. OH. They were using slang! Apollo smiled and cleared his throat. “Hey….homie….what’s the……..HAPS? Yo?” There. Apollo had been HIP. Was he hip?

He was totally hip.

Greek Mythology and Modern Magic sounded quite interesting, and it might give her a break from the monotony of study.

She walked into the room off the great hall and saw a few things on the tables. There was a man there, and she saw he had written Apollo on the board. "Hello Sir," she greeted him happily, not sure whether Apollo was his first or last name, and not wanting to just blindly call him Apollo. He was an adult, that was a bit rude. She waved at a few people she had seen. There were tags on the desk and she wrote her name on it, sticking it to her robes.

Another young woman who insisted on calling him sir. Sigh. He would address that in just a minute, though, once more darling children trickled in. “Hi there…..Zhenya?” was he saying that correctly?

That's right. You didn't know. She'd come to that conclusion all by herself, so there. She smiled at the guy anyways, and paused in front of him to say, "Hello, sir." Nothing exciting 'cause she didn't know the guy yet, obviously.

She took a seat next to Marigold who looked all sorts of excited, and gave her a nudge and a grin. This was gonna be cool, right? And what was with the apples?

Gosh. Sir. AGAIN. Apollo just smiled and waved….she was also someone who looked cautious. The man set the apple he’d been playing with down and squinted at her nametag. “Nora! How nice to meet you!”

It must be his name because otherwise he wouldn't have written it with that curly fancy type of letter.

The third year grabbed a name tag so the mythology man could recognize him and when looking for a place to seat he spotted a lonely not so lonely (because there was a girl with her) Marigold BUT he panicked in silence and sat down on the first table he was close to. Great. He let out a sigh and looked at the person who was beside him. Oh and he knew him. "Heeey you are the guy with the fishy name..." also he remembered that he didn't like to be acknowledged like that but it wasn't Hugo's fault. "Nemo, right?" and no, he hadn't seen his name tag.

Hugo Foster

Third year Slytherin

WHAT’S UP? Another hip child. Apollo laaaaughed and laughed. “I am NO knight, I promise.” He wouldn’t try to be hip again because his granddaughter said he was very embarrassing when he did that. Hmph. “Hugo! Good to meet you!”

He glanced around….was anyone else arriving? More fresh and smiling faces? HMMM?

It looked so official, all spelled out like that, Damien attached the tag to the front of his robes and looked about, spotting a less than impressed looking Nemo, a cheerful as always Lux and a quiet Thornton. No Eden, though, and no Rorie ether, they might have opted out. He hoped not, especially in the case of Roria.

"Hello Professor, Welcome to Hogwarts." He grinned, casually saluting the older man... Who, actually? Wasn't the weirdest dude ever, but definitely had something odd going on.

Wonder if I can get him to let me try on that hat.

Apollo looked around--MORE PEOPLE. THIS. WAS. EXCITING.

...PROFESOR? Apollo just stared at the boy for a minute before clearing his throat. Gosh. Such politeness--wait, did that kid have an American accent? Apollo smiled and wondered if the boy would notice his accent...his own accent. Californiaaaa. Here we COOOOOOOOOOOME

She could think of a few stories from Greek mythology that involved golden apples. Paris judging which goddess was the most beautiful and should receive a golden apple had sort of been the cause of the Trojan war. The eleventh labor of Hercules had been to steal apples from the garden of the Hesperides. A third table had clay, wires, and wax. What could this be for? The wax reminded Penelope of the story of Icarus, who had flown so close to the sun that the wax holding his wings together had melted. Wax wasn't the best choice of adhesive to hold the feathers together, but Daedalus probably didn't have anything better when he was making the wings. There were many interesting stories in Greek mythology.

Penelope found a seat and filled out a name tag.

The instructor's name was Apollo? Like the Greek god of the sun, poetry, music, archery and healing? That was cool. Her own name came from Greek mythology. Penelope was the name of Odysseus' wife in The Odyssey.

As this one came in, quietly, and took a seat, he admired how determined her eyes looked. Sometimes silence spoke much more than words ever could. He gave this girl a little wave as he neared her desk, looking down at her nametag….

“...Penelope. A very fine figure to be named after.” He winked as he turned to stare at the girl who just walked in.

As she walked in she noticed there weren't that many people there. Did they know beforehand there wasn't going to be any food? AJ hoped she wouldn't regret this. The first thing her eyes saw was the table full of fruit. "What's with all the apples? Oh, are we going to have a bobbing for apples contest? I can hold my breath for a really long time." Fun facts, she was full of them.

Name tags were lame. Instead AJ drew a unicorn and stuck that on her robes. Heh. Could she have one of those rubber ball things?

There was no such thing as a stupid question. Not even this one! Apollo chuckled and shook his head. “No..not today, sorry….is your name Unicorn?” he asked, staring at the picture. If it was….that was cool. Or if she wanted to go by Unicorn..well...he’d oblige.

Had to set a good example and be a good student leader or whatever, attending a seminar that had no impact whatsoever on their grades or school work. It was just for fun and learning, which... quite strangely for Sophie Brown felt like a waste of time, as she had so many THINGS to be worrying about these days. Maybe no one would've even noticed if she hadn't shown up.

But someone probably would, and then they'd think she didn't care about the school or learning and they'd make wild accusations that she'd changed or maybe the stress of a badge was going to her head, and blah blah blah…

She'd given this a lot of thought, clearly.

Upon entering, she decided she didn't regret this decision, though, for the whole set-up was quite interesting. Her gaze fell upon the three tables and the three bins on one, squinting and wondering... what... in the world...??? What were they even going to DO with all of that? Or was this guy - Apollo, really? - going to make demonstrations with them? He'd struck her interest, at least, and as Sophie moved further into the room to take a seat, she gave the man a wave. "Hi, sir. Welcome to Hogwarts. I like your..." she gestured up and down her own body, vaguely referencing his own attire, "...groove. Your style. S'wicked."

A pleasant enough choice of greeting, and then she turned to find someone to sit with - her first and second choice were not there, nor her third or fourth... sigh. Weren't her best friends coming to the seminar, too? It turned out to be okay, though, because Marigold and Norah were there AND were sitting together... so Sophie joined them, sitting on the other side of Norah from Marigold. "Hi, friends." Name tag? Eh. She sprawled out Sophie Brown on her own then stuck it on her robes.

Ready to learn as she'd ever be today.

Apollo noticed the next few people to traipse in...one of which complimented his STYLE? He looked down at his overcoat...he had a STYLE? Well. Eccentric could be a style. “I….like YOUR style too!” he returned. Uniform was also a style…

“Sophie! Sophie. That’s the name of my granddaughter’s beagle. She’s a friendly little thing.” HE wondered if all Sophie’s were friendly, or if this one was going to be trouble. She kind of had a trouble look to her. Trouble wasn’t bad, though. Not always.

Annnd now to find a seat! Oh, heya, Professor Cassie! Adi grinned in her direction as well as Yoongi's, Hades's and Lux's, Mari's, Norah's and a few others before making a beeline for AJ. "Nice unicorn, AJ. He looks a little disproportionate.'' As in part of it was drawn bigger than the other half. Hehe. The Puffer flopped down next to his girlfriend and snagged her quill to filled out his own name tag:

“And good day to you, too, young sir!” he said as he began to eye the wax on that third table. Had he soaked it for too long? Hm. “Adi!” he said the boy’s name aloud once it was written on the name tage. What a motley crew of NAMES. In all his years of teaching..he almost always had some repeats...but here today? Nope! Why did it remind him of a brandname for wrapped chocolate candybar? Heheh...right...find a seat...find a seat....there! He sat at the back like always and grabbed his refillable quill from his pockets. Henric thought he should make a duplicating charm on his nametag, he was starting to get tired writing his name down everytime.*le sigh..*

A quiet one! Apollo saluted him and peered at the name tag. “Henric! Nice to meet you, Henric.” For some reason, Apollo wanted to draw a curly mustache on the boy. He wouldn’t, because that was most likely frowned upon, but just know, Henric, that Apollo will totally be picturing you with a mustache the entire seminar period.

Nothing was wrong with a mustache. Apollo admired a good mustache.

He glanced at his watch...until he realized he wasn’t wearing a watch, and sighed. “Well--I’ll let a few more stragglers come in before beginning--welcome welcome everyone!” he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and hobbled towards the window to peer out…

November in England was a much different climate than November back home. He didn’t miss the heat, though. His style was much more suited for the colder weather.

OOC: I will be officially starting the seminar in about 12 or so hours! <3
